I came to Sobador for physical therapy about extreme tension that is causing pain in my entire upper body -currently it hurts to simply take in a deep breath. I went to my doctor about this and they recommended me to see a physical therapist. The one they referred me to had very bad reviews, so I did some research and that's how I found Sobador. Manuel did a great job confirming that this pain is coming from tension in my muscles and we now have a strategy in place now to fix this. I'm extremely relieved to find a solution for this issue, I've been physically miserable for weeks. Thank you so much! They recently opened a new location in Grand Prairie, which is very nice, however it seems all their updated location information hasn't been updated yet on the internet. Prior to the massage, I told her about a medical condition I have (because it's not obvious) that causes chronic pain because she asked about it. She acted as though it was not an issue (because it's not and does not affect my ability to get a massage and is the reason why I was seeking massage services). During the massage she asked me if I wanted deeper pressure and I said yes. It didn't feel like that happened. I asked her to work two specific areas and she did not adequately work on either area. After the massage, before I could say anything at all, she told me she did not do her best work on me because of my medical condition and that I should consult my doctor before getting massages & get a doctor's note giving her permission to do deep tissue work on me. It was extremely offensive and an extremely dumb thing to say- if she hurts someone during a massage she is liable no matter what a doctor's note says or someone's medical condition. Frankly, I would have laughed if it had not made me feel so uncomfortable. There were so many other ways to simply ask the question "have you ever been injured by a massage?" To which I would have replied "no." But instead it seemed hostile. No matter her intention, it was a disturbing interaction and I will not be returning to this business. She also did not tell me prior to the massage that she doesn't take credit cards, even though her associate does. She only takes Venmo or cash. She's lucky I had Venmo. That's really something you should share BEFORE the service.
