My car desperately needed to be cleaned, and despite good intentions to do it some weekend, it never happened, so I took it in here last week at lunchtime. They do a mini valet for £10 - there were three of them working on it at once so it was turned around really quickly! I got the interior hoovered and windows cleaned, and a full exterior wash plus tire gloss. Totally worth the tenner!

Only real down side I can think of is that there isn't great waiting area if your are getting a full valet. Sometimes even if your car has been seen to you have to wait until you can get passed the car in front.

It is definitely not the nicest or stock the best food or groceries, or even offer the best services. But if you lived in east Belfast I cant think of a filling station that is better value. You'll find it has most of the goodies, drinks, household items and magazines that you would expect it to have. In the past they have had a couple of thefts in the shop from some youths with nothing better to do and at the counter where you pay they have some pictures taken form CCTV footage of youths stealing. I used to enjoy jokingly enquiring every week how the investigation was progressing!!! At the end of the day, most of us need petrol. For me I like to pay as little as I can when i fill up.

It was en route to work at the time and seemed to have the best prices. A couple of years down the line it still has the best fuel prices and remains very busy. Likewise shop part is unchanging, just a limited selection of food and household items. You can always get a pint of milk in this one, but most certainly not anything healthy like fresh fruit or vegetables, but really, that's fair enough for a filling station first and foremost.

I had planned to go to the local valet near to me, but I happened to be driving past this car wash in Newtownabbey and decided to call in as it was on my way. I got my car seen to after no more than about 10 minutes, and it only cost me £16 for the full works. I'm very houseproud, or should I say 'carproud' of my little car, and this carwash is the best place to take it in my local area. They do all ranges of cleaning for you, from a basic wash and dry (Which is already better than the drive through because by hand they can remove a lot more specific dirt and rubbish), right up to a mini or full valet which cleans your car inside and out (really to the extreme - real perfectionists) for only a tenner. You can't say fairer than that, really, can you?

USA Car Wash is fantastic, as mentioned I go for a Mini Valet which will set you back £10 (+£1 for wax) for this you get the full exterior of the car washed (including wheel cleaning). they then get you out of the car and give it a good hoover and wipe down the dash and upholstery. The staff are fantastic here, there's absolutely zero messing about. You pull up, they beckon you in to an area and they get to work - a mini valet takes 15 minutes maximum and you'll be impressed with how thorough they are. One thing to think about is how busy this place is - The Shore Road itself is a busy road so the car wash obviously gets a lot of business. I'd avoid peak times (Saturdays/Sundays are rammed). It's cash only too so make sure you visit an ATM before hand (there's one at ASDA opposite).

It's cuisine de France range is freshly baked on site and there are fresh apple tarts produced on Sunday. What more could you possibly ask for? One of the truly great things about this shop is that it stocks one of the most popular (mostly for sentimental reasons) drinks I've come across in Ireland, especially for Belfast locals familiar with holidays to Donegal...the infamous 'Football Special'! I've only ever seen it sold in Donegal (approx 80miles away) so for it to be available in Cooley's is quite a feat and a very novel idea.

I recently took my car in for a service and an MOT, and it failed the MOT twice. The person who checked the car said the reason could be many things and admitted that he did not know the exact cause. My car stayed at the garage for several days without any solution. I paid for everything they asked for, yet there was still no solution and no refund offered. I no longer recommend this garage for servicing. We have lost a great deal of time, money, and--most importantly--trust.

They agreed to arrange for the body work, to have the alloys recoated and finally for a full 'PMG -Detail' which was meant to leave the car absolutely spotless and in perfect order. We discussed numerous details and I asked them to leave nothing undone - everything that could be done, should be. Unfortunately, this arrangement did not work out very well. It started with delays, my car was to be done in two weeks. It took three. Nothing else was done but the body work - I cannot speak to the quality of their polishing the paintwork because I was not allowed to see it before they started. The car was painted and the paint job is ok. The wheels look fine, although they increased the cost 25%, mid-job, even though I made no alterations. I paid a very fair sum for this work, it was no favour. The supposed 'detailing' for which I approached them in the first place - was terrible. There is so much dirt left in and on the car, no attention to detail, it was definitely cleaner when I left it with them initially. They 'polished' under the bonnet using some shiny oil, but left grime on most of the painted surfaces. It wasn't even power washed well. They changed the reg plate surrounds - but installed the rear one very badly and it came apart right after driving away. They destroyed the Mercedes badge on the boot and I'll have to get it replaced. None of the requests we agreed at the start were done, despite my numerous communications and their confirmation that it would all be 'no problem'. I sought to get this all rectified, but they've continuously lied and let me down on every aspect. I had arranged with them for the window tinting - which they never got done - and they quoted £150, of course I just rang the company they claim to use and was told it would cost £80. They've also kept the USB port I supplied for installation into the car - despite my requesting it's return... apparently 'they can't find it now'. (The item was eventually returned, after I had replaced it myself.) Clearly my car was not a priority and not given the care and attention apparently lavished on other clients. I'll not be speaking with PMG again or referring anyone there at all.
