I used the Soap Opera for years and never had a single problem there. The Laundromat was always clean.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK...Beware... rant to follow. TERRIBLE BUSINESS. Many machines out of order. No…read moreaccurate contact information for management. No assistance available on-site and no convenient way of reaching a human being who can help; a tattered paper sign on the wall closes with something like "...management, Kindred Realty." But Kindred Realty doesn't seem to exist any longer. Calling the phone number listed for Kindred Realty now reaches Gentry Realty, who responded that they don't have anything to do with the laundromat. On a Friday morning in September, 2024, with four houseguests arriving in the evening to spend the weekend at our cabin (water supplied by well), I unknowingly used a faulty washer at Shoemaker's Laundramat (which also seems to be referred to online as "Kindred Laundramat) in Boonville, about 10 miles from my home. The multi-load machine had no "out of order" sign on it. I loaded my laundry, inserted the necessary quarters, added detergent and started the machine. When the wash was done, the washer door would not open, no matter how I repeatedly tried to do so. And, there was no way to unplug it (in order to hopefully reset it) because it was plugged into an outlet in the LOCKED basement of the building. I ended up leaving this multi-load washer filled with my belongings after a nice merchant who owns a store in the same tiny strip mall put me in touch with the owner's mother, who said she would contact her son in North Carolina and have him call me. Later that evening, the owner contacted me. He told me he would have the laundry, which included, among other things, a set of queen-size bed sheets (remember... I had houseguests arriving) dried and stored in a locked closet until I could pick it up. The next day, I played phone/text tag with one of the owner's workers, trying to arrange for someone to meet me at the Laundramat to unlock the closet so I could pick up my things. The following day (Sunday), before I had been successful at arranging a pickup, the owner, David May, contacted me via text to tell me his workers had mistakenly thrown my belongings in the dumpster and the dumpster had been emptied. He assured me he would send me a check to cover my losses (which also included previously losing $20 in one of the Laundramat's change machines and trying unsuccessfully to reach the owner for reimbursement). For a minute, I actually thought I was dealing with an ethical person who was simply having difficulty managing a business he was trying to sell from a distance (North Carolina). NOPE. Here it is, 9 months later, I've returned from wintering in the south, having resigned myself to the fact that I was not dealing with an ethical person at all. I'm searching online for a different Laundromat to use this summer. (Oh, and I never received a check or any communication from the owner or his mother). And... up pops yelp reviews of Shoemaker's Laundramat! And, the reviews I read were positive! So, I thought it best to get this off my chest and try to warn others that Shoemaker's Laundramat is not simply mismanaged, it is not managed at all. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

This was a nice little laundromat. We stopped in to do a couple of loads of laundry. The place was…read moreclean, the bathroom was clean. There was a dispenser for soap and a soda machine. They had a table where you could sit and all of the tables to fold laundry were clean. One thing the owner should look at is the bank of white dryers. On the bottom row, the middle dryer started to eat a couple of our clothes. They were getting caught near the door. We could not get our money back from that machine when we moved it to one of the almond dryers. It should be looked at. Otherwise, nice place.
