The chair had been the victim of generations of kids who abused it as kids do. The wood was dry and split. A chunk of the carved back had fallen off and amazingly we managed to hang onto it. Mark did not disappoint. He disassembled the chair, meticulously stripped the remnants of the old finish, sanded & reattached the broken piece, filled old holes with a mixture of wood and filler, repaired all the split areas & filled in the tack holes from the previous upholstery, which will allow us to have the chair reupholstered. Mark kept me informed throughout the process, sharing pictures & confirming my choices for finishing. The chair is beautifully restored, the wood looks amazing and hopefully will be enjoyed & probably abused by the next few generations of our family.
