Being a mom of boys and having to take them to the barber I always feel comfortable here and the boys leave looking fresher than ever! The place was a caos magazines full of hair music and tv full volume and the smell was between Chinese food burritos and hair chemicals! I just moved to CA from Hawaii and have been looking for a barber in the area. I've been with my barber back home for 5+ years, so of course finding a new one was stressful but necessary! I was greeted immediately by the Owner, Rosie, sat in the chair, and met Joel. Joel is an incredible barber, with great conversation. I felt like I was chatting with an old friend! He asked a lot of questions and assured me he would do whatever it took to give me the perfect cut, which he did! I've been getting my haircut here for several years and I never appreciated the professionalism of a quality barber shop until I started coming to Snippz. For one thing all of their barbers clearly display their license on their mirrors. This isn't one of those cash-only businesses where the barbers have questionable experience. All of the workstations are organized and the barbers are constantly disinfecting their tools in between cuts. The shop itself is always kept clean and inviting, and they even have a fridge for refreshments that you can purchase. Their team does a great job of acknowledging you as soon as you walk through the door, and getting you into a chair as quick as possible. They do take walk-ins but I recommend making an appointment with one of their barbers through the Booksy app, especially if this is your first time visiting. Their schedules tend to be pretty booked day-to-day. But I want to take the time to also highlight my barber Vic. He cuts in the first chair on the left as soon as you walk into the shop so you can't miss him. One of the great things about working with Vic is that he's honest with me about the limitations of my hair, and takes the time to understand what I want my hair to look like and how we can achieve it. Although it may be easy to just give guys whatever haircut they ask for, Vic will sway you away from things that just won't work for you and he'll never sugarcoat anything. I have very straight, thick hair that's typical of most Asian guys so you can imagine how difficult it is to manage my hair. But through a lot of patience and trial and error, Vic has managed to help me fine tune the haircut that I now proudly wear. But beyond his barbering abilities, Vic is also a personable and genuinely nice guy who takes the time to get to know you. As any good barber does, he treats you like an old friend and acts as a confidant who listens to you ramble about your life while you sit in his chair. Sometimes it feels like I get free therapy with my haircut. But jokes aside, I like to think this is why he's developed the clientele and reputation that he has around the shop. Vic prides himself on his work ethic and his no-nonsense attitude as a professional barber and that is why I have only trusted him to cut my hair the last several years. I now live in Long Beach and I still drive every two weeks to get my haircut at Snippz, like clockwork. A lot of my friends look at me like I'm crazy for driving that far. But when you find a great barbershop that you trust and makes you feel good about yourself, you'll drive however far and pay however much to keep that feeling. read more

My mom was looking for a barber for herself because she likes the real short pixie/boy cut and she's been complaining that the spot she typically goes to never gives her that clean cut she wants. While visiting me on a Sunday, she asked me to look up a barber in the area that had great reviews. Sure enough, I came across Snippz AND they were open on a Sunday - most salons are closed Sundays and Mondays. I called in and spoke with Rosie, the owner, and explained what my mom wanted. She was really friendly, professional, and understood right away. She told me that they were all booked but she was able to squeeze my mom in. I got a little lost along the way thinking it was at one location and was 15 minutes late, I felt so bad having her squeeze us in. I called to let her know and she said it would be fine. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted and they were busy. The shop is super cute, red and black themed with Edward Scissorhands on the wall. It gave me a garage-like vibe which works well with a barbershop for this day and age. Rosie immediately walked over and helped us out and my mom showed her some photos of the style she was looking for. Rosie gave her opinions and suggestions and they were off. I was the spectator the whole time and mom and I think Rosie did such a great job! It was exactly what my mom was looking for and Rosie wasn't afraid to go to town with the clippers, razor, and line my mom up too. She even explained a few ways my mom could style her new 'do and gave her a sample of the wax product she used on her. My mom and I left a happy camper and my mom is looking forward to going back. The salon is also really clean! You can tell they pride themselves on providing personalized service and don't feel the need to rush their clients. I saw that there were a lot of extras for men, package deals, beard line ups, etc. on their "menu". I have longer hair and get braided frequently and don't trust just anyone to touch my hair but she was able to do exactly what I asked for. Duuuude..first of all thank you sooo much Rosie! I came here today because my sons hair is not only super straight and thick, but also uneven and all over the place. Previous barbers (not at Snippz) have messed my sons hair up because they don't know how to work with it. I booked my appointment online with Rosie last week in hopes that she would work her magic and do something about my his funky hair and man, she did not disappoint! She understood what I wanted all the while respecting my sons decision of keeping his hair somewhat still long. I don't usually take my son when he's due for a cut so I'm kind of clueless on what to ask, but she walked me through everything she was doing and explained the difference between a taper and fade and what to ask for him on his next visit...which I have since forgotten Regardless, my son came out looking like a whole ass new kid lol and very handsome. This is the spot you want to bring yourself, your kids, your dad your mom your uncles and cousins to! Also regarding COVID: You're temperature is taken when you get there. They are sanitizing their chairs and equipment after every cut and there is no waiting area available at the moment unless you're there with your kiddos.
