I been on a Nike kick especially lately trying to get some good gear to motivate myself to keep…read moregoing to the gym and this is a great store for the neighborhood. I like the North Bronx branding. They should have some running shirts with the Nike North Bronx branding, I'd definitely cop one. So usually if I'm going to get Nike stuff, I'll go to the factory store in the Woodbury commons which is most convenient to me. I got some great running shoes there a few years ago that are still my current pair. Or I was planning on going to the factory store in Newark but who wants to make that drive and deal with that traffic and tolls. And I'll never pay full retail at a Manhattan store. I did actually go to the Newark factory store and honestly this store here in co op city has similar prices. Idk if this is supposed to be a clearance store or factory store (neither terminology is used here), but it seems to be like a clearance store. There's some decent discounts on clothing and shoes/sneakers that are similar to prices I saw at the Newark store and other "factory" stores, so it's probably similar items and prices. It's hit or miss though. Stuff that is in the store all the time is discounted lightly, but still a bit pricey in my opinion and there's a clearance rack where there's an extra like 20% off where you may get lucky. There are random times where there are good extra sales, and recommended to use the app or sign up, which I did and was able to get a sale on top of a sale for a training shirt, which I was able to pick up in this store instead of paying for shipping. Not a huge selection but large enough that they have sneakers, running shoes, clearance/refurbished shoes, running shirts, shorts, yoga shirts/shorts, and pants. Usually these full time items are not heavily discounted but you'll get a little break from the sticker price. The staff in my experiences seem helpful. Shoutout to Michael who made some recommendations, and was super helpful in helping me pick up my item seamlessly. I'll definitely be coming back to keep an eye on the sales

Hard to believe this used to be the Loew's American movie theater that I so remember coming to in…read morethe mid 80s- where I'd rather see 'Opera' or 'Re-Animator' for $2 Mondays instead of heading home to do school work. This theater came with a long fight to keep it in the neighborhood. But things evolved. Located across the street from Macy's in Parkchester, this space has been a good addition to the area after the movie theater closed down, remained vacant for a while and retrofitted several years ago to what it is now. I like the TJ Maxx-Marshall's family- because I know I can nab some designerish items that don't come with an eye-watering price tag. Layout is tidy for the most part and kind of on the smaller side- but they make up for it with Activewear and other sections on the top floor. Despite the home section being smaller than what I'm used to seeing at other Marshall's, there's a nice selection of wicker baskets in a wide range of sizes, planters, the wood cutting boards, etc. Plus service, has been nice the few times I've been here. Things have shaped up from what this space looked like originally. And yes- I got sentimental when I reminisced about coming to the Loew's American and sneaking in to the next movie without paying. Even more nostalgic was when I saw the original Loew's 'movie poster signs' outside. Those where the days.

This review honestly breaks my heart to write…read more I've known this shop since the early 2000s -- pre-2007, back when it was a real staple in the neighborhood. I'm talking about my entire high school years. My friends and I practically lived there. We bought mixtapes, sneakers, chopped it up -- we probably had more attendance in that store than we did in school. If you're from the Bronx, you already know the era I'm talking about. Back then, the place meant something. It was part of the culture. Unfortunately, what it's become now is the complete opposite. The owner's business practices are not honest, and that's the hardest part for me to say -- because he's known me since I was a kid. Despite that, I was sold sneakers under questionable circumstances, including tags being cut out, and when I tried to return them, I was flatly refused. No resolution. No accountability. That experience stuck with me because it showed a pattern: upcharging, no flexibility, and no respect for the customer -- even longtime ones. And when I started checking reviews later on, I realized I wasn't alone. Others have said the same things. I left the neighborhood, went to college in New York, lived upstate, lived in California, and came back. Every time I stopped in hoping things had changed -- they hadn't. If anything, the business felt further removed from what made it special in the first place. Mixtapes aren't even a thing anymore, which was the main reason many of us supported the shop back in the day. Without that, all that's left is the way customers are treated -- and that's where this place continues to fall short. This isn't written out of spite. It's written out of disappointment. Sometimes communities outgrow businesses, especially when they stop serving the people that built them. As someone who supported this shop from the beginning, I can honestly say I no longer recommend shopping here, especially for sneakers. I hope the space eventually goes to a business that treats the neighborhood -- and its longtime customers -- with respect.

Their website…read moreshows all sizes of a product are available, that you can add them to your cart, and then allows you to purchase them. Days later they say your sizes are out of stock. You call them and they have other sizes available, but their website still says ALL sizes are available! They suggest you go on line and make a new order. You are still confused as to what sizes are available. They still want to charge you more shipping to order the new sizes and will not apply promos you used in the original order. Then they want you to find new promos yourself online and call them again to apply the promos and match them to sizes available, even though it says all sizes are available. You can waste hours with these people. Again, worst customer service I've ever dealt with.
