Needing some remodeling work and never had to use a contractor in the Ithaca area, I started asking for a good contractor. I received Chris Eder as reference to use. From our first phone call, he was very professional. Chris was very punctual for our first meeting and after looking at the job that I wanted him to do, he gave me a written email estimate later that evening. Every day for work he was on time, and every day when he was done working, he always cleaned up debris or mess that he had made as if he had not even been there. I am very pleased. I have had Chris do several different jobs for me on my house and rental and he has never failed me. He has remodeled three bathrooms, trim work around floor and windows, carpet/vinyl flooring installation, subflooring, installed electric baseboard heating, ceiling lights, minor electrical work and building storage shelves in my garage for me. Chris is always accommodating around my work schedule when he does a job for me. He has never started a job and then left me hanging days before returning. Every time I have asked him to do a job on whatever days I am available Chris is always there on time, always professional, very reasonable and works harder than a beaver with dull teeth. I am surprised with how much better my house looks with new gutters and I am now looking forward to the next rain! They replaced 2 gutters, 3 down spouts and added cleats to my roof.

He was very detailed in the execution of his work including the plaster application and painting, ensuring they were both performed to high standards. Drywall repair takes time to dry in between layers and we were able to work it around schedules to keep things flexible. Overall price was a great deal for the work done. RJ was very enjoyable to work with, he is friendly and committed to his craft and I would happily hire him again for other work around my 150 year old house.

He's not just a contractor we considered him a family aquaintence through his wife. We had one goal to move on before snow. He took 2 weeks after start date to get in our house and do work. But no biggy because he's a perfectionist. Right? Wrong. When I questioned him about being able to see drywall joints he threw a hissy fit and threatened to leave the job after being paid for some. After that day his work became sub par much worse than it already was. To this day we are still finding issues. $600 cabinets that aren't able to open because his capacity to look forward and see that trim would be blocking them was lacking. Our doors don't shut and there is a draft. Great during -20 degree weather and winter Right? We spent hundreds on trim and I spent hours staining it just to have to put it up crooked and split. He left 2 rooms untrimmed even though he agreed to do it. He rigged our electric stove wiring which seems like it could be unsafe. He left gaps between drywall joints. Couldn't put a toilet back on properly without it leaking all over. He cracked or split at a minimum of 5 of the 600 cabinets putting them up. The walls he put up are crooked and lean. If you ever run into this "man " I would look else where. To top it off he left a huge like of garbage he was supposed to take. Screws all over my yard and I end up getting a flat tire. And now to top it off the hack of a "contractor" that claims to be an anal perfectionist couldn't even put a sink in properly. The idiot couldn't cut pipe to length so he just set it there. Do yourself a favor and pay a reputable contractor to work on your home. Sutryk & Sons, Inc. was not cooperative when problems were identified, lied to our face, and do not properly prep and install vinyl siding. They'll take your money and leave you with a cob job that will need to be fixed by another contractor. They have refused to fix our concerns and are no longer answering emails. We have already had water leak under a window after this installation due to their poor work processes and failure to flash the exterior. I would give zero stars if possible. Do not use this contractor for any work on your home!

My driveway was a mess before. It was in bad shape when we bought our house 15 years ago, and had…read moreonly deteriorated due to a total lack of maintenance. It was wavy and uneven and downright dangerous; I almost twisted my ankle out there a couple of times! We booked Pete in the winter to resurface our driveway in the summer. Unfortunately, there was such frequent rain over the summer that Pete's schedule got pushed back 4-5 months, and it was fall before we got our new driveway. It sure was worth the wait, though! Pete's crew cleaned and resurfaced my driveway, and it looks and feels amazing! The surface is flat, the lines are clean, and the edges are nicely rounded. The area where it comes up against our stone walkway is perfectly done, with no tripping hazards to be found. Walking and driving on the new driveway is a pleasure! We were even able to set up a basketball hoop out there now that it's a safe and usable surface. I wouldn't say the job was cheap, but I feel like the quality of work was worth the expense. Pete's has maintenance covered as well. They'll be back in the spring to reseal the asphalt, and because they're on top of scheduling it I don't have to think about it. The maintenance costs will be pretty reasonable.

I was told the job would be completed in a month, but two days later they had an opening and so came and did a nice and very neat job of sealing the cracks and sealing the blacktop. The whole job was completed rapidly, allowing more than enough for the driveway to completely dry by evening. A couple of cracks did not completely fill so they came back two days later and redid these cracks, and even added a bit more sealer on 20% of the driveway at no additional cost. I am pleased to strongly recommend Pete's Absolute Asphalt. (Note that even though this review lists me as in San Francisco for some odd reason (possibly a hidden VPN) please be assured that I and my driveway are in Ithaca NY!)

When they came to remove the tree, no respect for our property at all! He simply drove onto our property and begin working on the tree. When I asked him, after returning home, what was going on - he just stared at me. Really!? One of the workers asked me if I wanted them to drive on the neighbors lawn....why would I care? It's not my problem and I should not have been brought into it, period! Then after they left, I reviewed the parking area and of course, one of the fence links are dented - was not surprised!! Disrespectful and spotty work
