Photo processing with a blackened heart - Putney Snappy Snaps.
I am usually very generous with my "stars" and try not to slag off when slagging off could be avoided, however this time around I feel the need to vent after a rather shocking and disheartening photo processing experience.
After volunteering as a builder/reporter in Central America to help build a home for a family in need, I decided to use Snappy Snaps to process some family portrait photos I had taken. These 8x10 photos would then be framed and mailed over to the project's coordinator, where they will then be hand delivered to this impoverished family to display in their newly built home. A simple and kind gift that went terribly wrong...
Upon picking up the ridiculously overpriced photos, I realised that they were incorrectly sized - my 8x10 request was transformed into an 8x12 (without letting me know). My other 8x10 photo was kept an 8x10, but the 2 people on the edges of the image we chopped in half to fit...as if I wouldn't even notice!!!
So here is the kicker. After explaining that I wanted the photos resized and properly cropped (and then having to come back 30 minutes later to pick them up) I noticed that an extra 5x7 image was included (worth maybe £3). Rather than taking it for free, my conscience got the better of me (or perhaps I'm just terrible at being sneaky) and I mentioned to the evil lady behind the counter that I had an extra photo. She then snatched it from my hand and told me I could not keep it without paying. She decided that she would rather throw away this photograph of a poor Honduran family in the trash than give it to me to mail as a gift. Even after explaining this to her, the photo lab meanie tossed it away.
I won't be using Snappy Snaps for photo processing anymore. Su servicio es terrible! read more
