Visa Photos
I work locally in South Kensington and therefore use this Snappy Snaps when I need visa or passport photos taken (for work-related trips). I went there to get some visa photos. The guy who took them insisted that my hair needed to be further pulled back for the shot, but I explained that this is a regular visa that I have issued, so the way I was posing would be fine (my full face was visible). Then while I waited, he started talking to the other lady who works there, in Spanish, saying in a dismissive way how my hair and my eyebrow were not how they needed to be. They were saying that I will have the visa application rejected because I didn't want to listen to them. My colleague, who was waiting with me, noticed that the tone was rather rude but couldn't understand what was happening. I, on the other hand, understood everything. I then interrupted them, in Spanish, to ask what was so wrong and why they could not properly discuss it with me since I was right there in front of them. I am also a native Spanish speaker. I thought it was very disrespectful to not only comment on my photo in such a way, but to also assume that I would not understand their comments because they were speaking about me to each other in Spanish. Very unprofessional. read more
