I have a feeling I'm going to become a regular here. I went to Paradis du Liban while my uncle was…read morevisiting, because he only eats halal, and they had a decent amount of vegetarian and seafood options. Much to his delight, we found out that the restaurant is halal, so my uncle was able to eat anything/everything off the menu.
Even before we ordered, they started us off with some ok bread and really nicely seasoned tomatoes. For appetizers, we had the rice-stuffed grape leaves and the baba ganoush. The grape leaves were just OK, but I really enjoyed the baba ganoush. It was kind of like a salad with chunks of eggplant, tomato, pomegranate, and a tangy dressing, rather than the hummus-like puree I'm used to.
For our main course, we got the mixed kebab and a whole grilled fish. I loved the chicken kebab, but the lamb and ground beef were a little tough and chewy. The fish was out of this world. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and it was crispy on the outside and moist and flaky on the inside.
Overall, I was very impressed with the seasoning on everything. Even the items I didn't love were still OK, not awful. Service was excellent and reasonably fast.
I will definitely be back, and it's fancy enough that I would bring visitors here when they get tired of fries and carbonnade.
