I tried a kanelbulle (cinnamon bun) and vaniljbulle (vanilla bun). They were fresh understated, as seems to be the case in Sweden. Americans are used to pastries that are sweet, a strong presence of cinnamon, and so on. Swedish pastries are more subtle, use much less sugar, and more spices. If you know this going in, it's easier to be appreciative.
