The staff is wonderful, the space is clean, service is prompt, but Dr. Quagliata has not been easy to work with. I've been heading here for restorative work as my teeth were very damaged. Every receptionist and hygienist I've met has been nothing but kind and supportive. The space itself is bright, clean, and professional, and I've been able to get appointments very quickly when I need them, despite their sometimes frustratingly inconsistent hours. Unfortunately, I feel like I had to fight to get my concerns resolved and addressed. I was having tooth pain/sensitivity that was getting worse even after the restorative work started. At every appointment I asked if I should expect the pain to decrease or go away, and got brushed off by Dr. Quagliata with a "yes, it will, and if it doesn't call us and schedule another appointment." When the pain worsened the cycle just repeated. After months of appointments I'm still experiencing pain and there doesn't seem to be a plan in place going forward to treat it. I feel like she isn't really paying attention to me as a patient, just doing the required amount of work and moving on. If I was just going here for normal biannual cleanings, I'd be perfectly happy. Cleanings have been smooth, easy experiences. Again, the staff have been so receptive and polite every time I go there. Sadly the fact that I regularly feel dismissed when I bring up my concerns is making me consider switching to a different dentist. read more

I decided to try this office because of the advertised I saw on Instagram, and I also wanted to take advantage of a Botox special they were running. The office is brand new and beautiful, however like all the other patients that left a 1 start review, I also was presented a money-grabber treatment plan. I was treatment planned for 3 root canals, 8 crowns and a bunch of fillings. I was not expecting it because I never had any pain and I take great care of my teeth. I decided to go for a second opinion at another office in Brighton, and I have 0, I say 0, cavities... how is this even legal? How is she allowed to do this? I went to Smylique Dentistry because I trusted the business's reputation. Unfortunately, I left feeling undervalued and misunderstood. My experience left me highly skeptical that their priorities might lie more with procedures (and profits) than with true patient care. Specifically, Dr. Quagliata recommended an extensive treatment plan--numerous crowns and extractions--without a clear explanation of why they were necessary. Thankfully, I sought a second opinion elsewhere. The dentist I saw afterward took X-rays and determined that I had only two small cavities that could be treated with simple fillings--not the eight crowns (and extractions!) suggested at Smylique. If you're considering Smylique, please proceed with caution and strongly consider getting a second opinion before committing to major dental work. Ruined my mouth from overworking teeth and unnecessary treatments. I got a myriad of fillings and a root canal and came back for a cleaning 6 months later and was told I had 12 cavities that need fillings. I then went to a different dentist who said I don't have any cavities. Always get a second opinion, and definetly don't go here. read more

Dr Quagliata suggested I receive 4 more crowns after she just finished 3 crowns in 2018. I went to another dentist and he said no reason for me to have these crowns. Now 2024 and no issues other than all 3 crowns that Dr Quagliata installed have now been repaired. I question whether I needed those 3 crowns as has my current dentist and another one I went to for and additional opinion. Please do yourself a favor and get a second opinion on anything suggested beyond a cleaning, including mouth guards, which seem to be a favorite to recommend to all. read more

I went to this dentist for a couple years after I had to switch from my original dentist due to insurance issues. At first I liked them- the staff (reception and hygienist) were very nice and helpful. Never got more than 5 words from Dr. Quagliata so I can't even comment on her. Before going to this dentist I hadn't had a cavity since I was a child. My first visit here they found 6 cavities. I believed them because I hadn't been to the dentist in a while and assumed that neglect caused cavities. Visit after visit they kept finding things wrong with my teeth. All of a sudden I had gingivitis, I grind my teeth, I chew too much on one side of my mouth(?!) They always needed new xrays, always tried to get more from me. This last visit was the last straw- I had 4 more cavities and the insults kept coming. I personally hate the dentist so I don't enjoy being told how bad my teeth are and how I need to change all my life habits to fix them. (Like not drinking coffee, pop or juice) They had me fitted for a night guard previously because apparently I grind my teeth and still kept saying I need to stop- like I can control teeth grinding?!? I also found it surprising that I would have more cavities. I even switched to a recommended electric toothbrush! I decided to get a second opinion. I went back to my old dentist for a cleaning. NO CAVITIES! They didn't mention that I had any issues like gingivitis or teeth grinding. Literally told me my teeth look great and found no issues. I'm convinced that IQ dental was out for my money. Upselling services to me to try and get more. Every time I went they told me I needed a special gingivitis cleaning/ treatment. I never got it because it wasn't covered by insurance. I'm SO glad I didn't go and get those "4 cavities" filled for no reason. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Then they tried to tell me I authorized services when I did not nor can they provde proof that i consented to this. B ut once again they chose not to bill your insurance company for!!!!! I use to love Indra I have been a patient of hers for years... she use to actually care about her patients well being .. over the last few years it had gotten worse and worse .. all her good staff members end up leaving I can only think it's because they see the same thing. I realize this is her business and how she supports herself. However this is all it has become . $$$$$$ she has gotten "to big for her britches". Her office staff turns over just as quick losing track of files ect . The few that do last are beyond rude and condescending .. I'm sorry I thought your job was to contact my insurance ?! Do NOT go here!! Please read! All this dentist cares about is $$$$ she could care less about your oral health as she preforms unnecessary procedures and some how "sees" cavities that aren't even on an x ray. She was about to put 12 fillings in my husband and 11 in me until we thought we better get a second opinion. Our new dentist found only 1 tiny one for me and two for my husband. Unbelievable!! I used to go here about 9 years ago and did up until 2018 when I went in and was told I had like 7 cavities and needed 1 root canal. I thought this was strange bc I was in NO pain. I had just had a baby and she was shaming me telling me how bad my teeth are and how I had cavities in my front teeth and literally all over. Mind you I haven't had a cavity since I was a child and she said it was from my pregnancy. I felt awful leaving there and ended up getting pregnant again shortly after and did not get the fillings or root canal. Fast forward to today, 3 babies later I went in for way overdue x-rays at my new dentist office and was expecting them to say I had 7 cavities and needed a root canal still....NO cavities at all. WTF. I was so confused and thats why I came here to read reviews. DO NOT GO HERE this is def insurance fraud. I feel sick that I ever sat in her chair. Every aspect of the experience at IQ Family & Cosmetic Dentistry is first-class! The atmosphere is cozy and the decor is tasteful. The staff are friendly and professional. Dr. Quagliata has a strong, confident, yet gentle touch, a keen eye for detail, and takes a very thorough approach to diagnosis and treatment. What more can I say? Several months later update: my partner needed a root canal and had to visit a local endodontist to have it performed. The dentist complemented him on his CEREC crown from IQ Dentistry, told him it was excellent work, and that he was quite impressed with the results. As the endodontist also provides traditional crown services, we thought it was indicative of the quality of Dr. Quagliata's work that a competing dentist deferred to her crowns vs attempting to sell us on his own office's work directly. The endodontist also gave us a second opinion on the work still yet to be done on my partner's teeth (additional crowns) and agreed with Dr. Quagliata's assessments. The endodontist we chose is not the one IQ Dentistry referred us to; there is no connection between the two practices. I felt their reaction to Dr. Quagliata's work and expertise spoke volumes. read more

I was a patient here. Went twice for acute care and kicking myself for going back the second time because my first time was a nightmare. You'd think they would help you take care of things quickly when it is a quality of life issue. It took 2 months to get a major cracked tooth (an incisor/front tooth) taken care of. Every time I leave here I am super frustrated! She is talented, I will give her that but my teeth are not happy-- I need a dentist who cares. read more
