My main complaint is with the Salesman (Shawn). In the beginning of the claim, we had to constantly reach out to him for updates, several occasions I had to text him more than once to get a reply from him. I finally called the office & spoke with Jodi & she talked with him & he got a little better w/communication. It took awhile to get started on roof because my insurance couldn't get the proper pictures & paperwork needed. Shawn kept saying he sent but insurance never got them. I assumed it was a technical issue with the system. We paid the deposit to start roof & it was done in a timely manner. We had to wait an additional couple of weeks for the gutter repairs. I would get multiple texts & I also got a call about the final payment. I replied to text & advised insurance needs certificate of completion before payment will be sent. Spoke with Shawn many times & he "claimed" this was sent. Spoke with insurance & they never received it. Insur received other paperwork but not this. There were many text & emails sent between myself, Shawn & Allstate. I stayed on top of this trying to get the proper paperwork. This past weekend we noticed the gutter wasn't repaired, they left an opening on the gutter where debri could get in & stop up the gutter. Texted Shawn about this & thats when things went real south. Earlier that same day my insurance called me & said they still had not received certificate of completion but he was going to make an exception to their policy & go ahead with the final payment. I let Shawn know payment was on its way to us (via an exception) & once the gutter issue was corrected we would pay the balance. He then proceeds to say you are past due & need to pay the bill by the latest tomorrow. Well, I said "How can I be past due when you have not sent the proper paperwork for payment"? This is when he became VERY UNPROFESSIONAL & I was appalled that someone in the service industry would talk to a customer like this. His text became rude & I was just in shock. It got to a point where I told him the conversation between him & I were done. He replied with a "Wow", I told him how unprofessional he was then he tried flipping all this around on me saying I came at him, I told him again this conversation is over & I will reach out to Jodi in the am. He said if thats what you feel you need to do for satisfaction then go ahead but she works in the office not the field. He then changes his attitude some & I said funny how your attitude changes when I mention Jodi. He said he wasn't threatened by Jodi he just misread my messages. At this point I blocked him phone number, enough is enough. I copied all text & sent to Jodi immediately (she had given me her cell previously). I didn't expect her to reply right away because it was outside of business hours but she did. She apologized & said "oh wow, that's unprofessional & so unnecessary, please accept my apologies", she also stated she was so embarrassed & this should have never happened between a salesman & customer. She called me the next afternoon & said she would get someone out the next day on the gutter repair, she also informed me that she looked in the system & Shawn never sent certificate of completion (he said he did 3 times). She again apologized for how Shawn acted & said he had some personal issues going on & let that get in the way of his professional work. She said that was no excuse & she has talked with him. I told her we would send payment when all work was done & sign the paperwork. I also informed her that this company was recommended by my mother but I wont recommend a company that lets an employee like this work there. Final invoice came, amount owed was more than final payment from insur, I questioned this & was told this is because of codes & deductible. Shawn was told my insur covers codes but he never turned in paperwork for this either. We were also told from Shawn, day 1 that he would work in our deductible so we wouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket. His word was purely a sales tactic & was not kept. I have every text, email & vm related to this claim. They said they would take $500 off the invoice but this should not have been on anyways because my insur covers this with proper paperwork from contractor.

I rarely go out of my way to give "one star" reviews because I will admit that there was only one good thing about this company. They quickly responded to my request to schedule an estimate to replace the roof at our church building. This is the only positive thing I can say about Mid-Ark Roofing because it went downhill soon after. During my phone conversation with Zak Lowry, he asked me "How many companies did I have coming to look at the roof?" While I can appreciate wanting to know what you might possibly be up against, that is ultimately none of your business. However, I told him the truth that we had scheduled several estimates scheduled. I could tell then that his overall disposition changed about giving us an estimate. Regardless of how Zak felt, it would be irresponsible for me as a representative of our local church to get only one estimate to replace our roof. Not a single one of the other contractors complained or appeared offended by the fact that we had multiple scheduled estimates coming. They all understood that we were simply trying to make sure that we had a competitive market value given to us. This roof replacement was being covered by insurance so payment was not going to be of any concern. Zak kept his scheduled appointment, in which he was the first one to come, and again - this is the only thing positive I will say - that he was the first one to come. Zak came (05/10/24) Friday morning around 10:30am. I was not expecting the proposal the same day so I decided to wait over the weekend. I attempted to make contact with Zak on Monday afternoon to no avail. I was told that "he was in a meeting with his boss and he would call as soon as he got out of the meeting". The lady who answered the phone did not sound very confident when she said that. I knew then that he had "ghosted" me but still, I waited. On Tuesday morning, I sent them a message on Facebook explaining that I just wanted a response from some representative with the company. I just wanted something, I didn't necessarily care at this point if they offered a proposal. With us being a potential paying customer, the least you could do is communicate to us that you are not interested in doing the work. Communication goes a long way with people. There is no excuse for this kind of unprofessional behavior from Zak and Mid-Ark Roofing. I have provided you with plenty of ways to make contact with me. You have the church's address, office number, my personal number and email address. The fact that not a single person at Mid-Ark Roofing has reached out to let us know to "kick rocks" or "pound sand" tells me everything I need to know regarding the customer service and values of this company. I will never recommend this company to anyone and I highly caution anyone who is looking for a roof replacement in contacting Mid-Ark Roofing for their roofing needs.

After checking on Yelp for a professional group, I received a few calls regarding my need. I wasn't able to use the first contact and initially thought I was not going to be able to use the second company, but boy am I extremely happy I did. Mr. Santos was "Johnny on the spot". He was very professional via our text messages and answered all of my questions. He was also the first of two or three respondents who actually came to the location to give me a free quote. And he actually came the day we text. After carefully weighing my options, I chose Santos. He and his crew all arrived prior to the scheduled time of around 8am. He speaks Spanish and English, while his crew spoke Spanish. They had all of their equipment setup and had started cutting the tree limbs before I left for work. My husband is retired, so he was home to observe. They did not stop for a break until after 1:00pm for lunch and to dispose of the tree parts already loaded on their trailer. When I arrived home from work (between 330-345pm) the tree was no longer standing and they were cutting the last of the trunk in sections in order to load it for disposal. They even moved a couple of pieces of the trunk to our carport to use for a project. My husband and I were extremely happy with the work and were very appreciative of the service that was provided by Santos' Hauling and Demolition. They just told us they can't find anybody to do the kitchen cabinet (this is after I threaten to sue them). I have outlets with no cover, furniture out of place and an unfinished closet with no hanging rods. Their organizing and prioritizing skills are very poor. Do not use them for Restoration!
