Tomato and tuna salad. Excellent
David L.

I wandered in for the WiFi but was impressed with the casual ambience and the food. The tomato tuna salad was fine, maybe a touch too much vinegar. Good strong WiFi and people seem to hang out for a while

Based on what I saw, the place was really solid. After the subpar "dinner" at that mexican joint, my friend was still hungry, and we went in search of some cafe. I had a coffee - Americano, & a donut... only 2,15 euros for the 2. He had a sandwich - which was pretty damn good looking - with a decent filling to bread ratio (a concept that seems foreign here). His sandwich was 4 euros, and for dessert, he had a cup of dark hot chocolate. I was jealous. service was friendly, there are a few tables outside, and stools at the bar if you are dining alone. it was nice.

Its no secret that you can find tapas everywhere in the city, around the corner, under your hostel window - everywhere. But this place takes a traditional dining experience up a notch - serving up contemporary preparations of old world classics. Every tapa we shared (5) was consistently on the same level of life-changing-delicious and even when we felt like our stomachs couldn't handle more, we cleaned the ous estrellats. To help you decide what to get here's our order: Guacamole cassola (quac and banana chips!!) Braves sms (fried potatoes like none other) Bunyols bacalla (fried cod nuggets) Ous estrellats (fried egg mixed with ham and potatoes) Place located in a fun neighborhood for young people - mucho plus ! Mos def coming back when I get the chance.

We found this small cafe/bar by chance, after a long day at park Guell. We arrived around 5 pm, hungry for a tapas snack and something sweet, and were seated in one of their small tables. A very friendly server presented the afternoon menu and took our drink orders; we were salivating over various dish options, when he came back, to tell us that the kitchen was closed until later, and they couldn't offer anything from the menu. Talking about disappointment (and hunger) ... until our server pointed out that they could still make crepes at the bar! Change of plans; we ordered their "exotic" crepe (avocado and tomato), a ham and cheese with tomato spread one, and a sweet banana chocolate for dessert. All flavorful, fluffy, light but quite filling and presented with gusto (see photos). They even waited until we were closed to finishing our savory crepes to prepare and bring the sweet one. Yes, we were pampered! We were really happy for our choices, and didn't give a second thought to the "closed kitchen". Left really satisfied (and full!). It is a quite place, but still attract tourists. I hope to go back there to try items form the menu!

Little neighborhood cafe and tapas bar in Vila de Gracia district. Ordered the Catalan breakfast which is ham and bread. Reasonable pricing. Really friendly staff, English no problem.

We were referred to La Pepita from a relative who said the food was delicious and a casual spot. We…read morewent to lunch at 1pm (when it opens) after a Sagrada Família tour. It's about a 6 minute taxi ride from there. We were seated in the back room with the writing covering the walls. The front bar seemed a little livelier but we took what was offered. Husband had house red wine (3.50 euros) and I had sangria (4.50 euros). Good pours for both. We started with the red shrimp (gambillos) in a lemongrass sauce, about 6 shrimp for 15 euros. Then grilled octopus (which was very tender) over mash potatos and snap peas for 15 euros. We also had a side of grilled bread (4 pieces) for 3.5. We also ordered the Pepita beef with mash potato but took home for dinner as we were full (18 euros). We finished with the homemade corn ice cream with carmelized popcorn and raspberries, which was very unique at 6.5. We added our names to the wall to top off the meal. Service was quick and friendly. Total bill was 85 euros including 5 drinks. It was our best meal in Barcelona so far.

The 1906 or something beer was surprisingly good and kind of honey sweet. Cava was great with jamon. The only bad thing is that sitting at the bar, people will keep hitting your backside unless you scoot in sideways Need cash to leave tip : s
