This location is always hit or miss. They have messed up my order a couple times, but for the most part they are always happy to fix it. The service is always pretty great, but the wait time is a little long. I usually have to calculate 15-20 minutes in if I'm going to stop here before work bc I know they like to take their time. If I wait any longer they usually give me a larger size for the price of a small or try something to make up for the wait bc they know me by now. A few days ago I went by and they couldn't make smoothies with frozen yogurt or ice cream and the day before yesterday the girl said they had been out of ice since 1 bc of their ice machine and it was 6:30 pm... I'm not exactly sure how that happens and how they stayed open that long after it broke, but I will continue to give them the benefit of the doubt because I understand how things can be and they represent this location pretty well on a customer service level as long as you are patient with them. I pulled up to order at 8:48pm. I knew they closed at 9pm. The lady was rude to me and complained about how she was "ready to go home already!". Handed me my blueberry peanut butter smoothie and the top was no on right then took it off and threw the top on the ground outside. She then got a new top then handed the smoothie to me with such attitude. Not only was she annoyed at me but the smoothie was not cold but warm and it looked like an old cup (not sure why Happy Friday was written it). I will never go to another Smoothie King again. She could not even handle such a small thing to do! Her coping skills show horribly and she need to not work in customer service. Arrived at this location about 45 minutes before closing. One car was ahead of me waiting for their order. Tried placing an order at the drive-thru speaker and I heard someone say something, but couldn't understand them. After a few tries to get someone to take my order, I pulled up to the pickup window. Nobody was there. I knocked on the window a few times. Nobody answered. I then parked the car and went to the walk-up window. I could see someone inside cleaning, but was still being ignored. I knocked on the window and the staff member yelled that they were closed. I told him that online it shows they should still be open. Should be zero stars. Need to clean house at this location. Just went to the drive thru at 2:21PM on March 30th. Was told they weren't taking orders bc they were on break. I asked if they were serious and they say yes, and that they'd be off break at 2:30. When I told them that's no way to run a business, the response "we do not care". A) assuming there is more than one person working, breaks should never be concurrent B) if you're open, stop your break, serve the customer, and resume your break after that. I drove away because anyone working with this attitude is likely to spit in my food or worse. If this is the culture you're allowing or enabling at your establishment you just need to close up business. I will say that I have never been treated more poorly at a restaurant than the Smoothie King on Old Hickory. I was in the drive up line about 20 minutes before the store closed. There were two cars in front of me at 7:40 on Dec. 17th, I heard some type of automated message on the screen and then never could get a person to answer after I sat there for more than 10 minutes. I then went around to the window and was treated so rudely when I asked why my order was never taken. At this point it was 7:57 and she said she would not take my order. She also offered up that she didn't care if I would leave a bad review about my experience when I asked for the managers card. She sure gave me a great idea to make sure I posted about this. I came here about 15-20 minutes before they closed. There were several other cars in the drive thru line, but no one was taking orders. The employees were inside, had AirPods in, and were cleaning up. If I was the only customer there I would have maybe understood, but there were at least 3-4 other cars. This is the perfect place to grab smoothie king. It's a tiny, and I mean tiny, drive thru building in Nippers Corner by the State Farm/Sports Clips and Bojangles. It's a weird set up as they actually have two lines, both on each side of the building. Service is fast and prices are right in line with other places (I believe it's franchise-able). I always get the 20oz vanilla slim and trim and have yet to be disappointed. read more

If you survive your 20+ minute wait you'll get a different smoothie every time even when you always order the same thing. Sometimes the blenders will be "down" as noted in other reviews. The staff has always been nice, I've never had a problem there but they need to pick up the pace. One time someone came out and took the orders of the 8 cars in line and that shaved off a few minutes of wait time, but not really much of a difference. I've gotten to it twice now and the first time I had to wait approximately 15 minutes at a drive-through for my smoothie when I was the only car there even then the size was wrong and the smoothie was wrong but it was OK because I was in a hurry and I had to except it.
