As I looked at the wall menu I thought the sandwiches sounded good, and I wouldn't have to cook lunch. Well I then ordered 2 Club Houses to go. (My mistake time wise) Again... I was the ONLY customer/person there. I stood around for 30min and noticed the two front end girls were lightly wiping a counter and as my momma would say, "puttering about". Nothing was said to me still standing at the counter. Finally I said 'is anyone making my sandwiches?' One girl said yes, the other girl went to the back to check. The decor is nice, but with a sore foot I wasn't interested in decor, not to forget HH (hungry hubby) was waiting in the car that warm day. The sandwiches when I finally got home to eat them were large and well packed with meat & cheese. They were good. The croissants were really good. BUT waiting 45 (yes Forty-five) minutes for two sandwiches in an empty restaurant was crazy!

These folks have taken a page out of the Chick-fil-A playbook and hire folks to come out and take your order while you're still in line in the car. The coffee seemed like a better alternative to the Dunkin' Donuts three doors down and I was very amused by the plastic bubbles the staff were wearing to take orders in the rain. My coffee, when it was handed to me, was super hot. Like, so hot that I could not even sip it for a full 20 minutes. When I lifted it out of the cupholder to drink it, I discovered that it was so hot that it had burned through the cheap Styrofoam gas station coffee cup that it was served in -- and was pooling around my cupholder. It got all over my car and all over my shirt -- which sucked because I had a seven hour drive ahead of me, with multiple stops, so I looked like a hot mess in every place I went for the rest of the drive home. I'm downgrading it only three stars because the coffee itself tasted good and I was entertained by the staff in their bubble helmets. But really, this created so much cleanup for me because of the two cut hot coffee and the cheap coffee cups that I would never go back here.

Now that I live here, I go here regularly and on one of my recent visits I noticed some changes to the inside. The guy helping me, Anthony, explained that he was the new owner and filled me in some more on the Clean Juice story and his family's journey in operating this location. So far it seems like all the changes have been positive and it's only going to get better and better. I wish every town had a Clean Juice since no other juice bars are USDA certified organic. Anthony said he'd just gone through an Organic Audit and it was extremely thorough. By eating organic juice and smoothies you know your ingredients are pesticide free, among other benefits,which is really important. This visit was specifically to try the 2023 Knoxville Vegan Challenge menu item: The Veggie Wrap. Also had a Basic One smoothie. Both were delicious, as everything I've ever tried here has been.
