After discovering that Plainfield was NOT in Cook County and, therefore, not subject to its draconian taxes, I suggested we hit a place for smokes, thereby saving me $$$ that could be better spent on the restoration of Ye Olde Crack House. Jenn, being ever so helpful, suggested this joint. Sure, they have booze, lots of it. Although I was there for smokes, I did give the liquor a quick glance - it was there, they had a decent - if standard - selection, and the pricing seemed to be in line. That being said, the real reason to come to this store is the cheap smokes - 3 cartons of Camel Lights for $103 with taxes vs. the $260 or so you would pay in the city! Yup, that's another $150 in taxes Todd Stroger isn't going to spend giving his relatives a pay raise. Look at me, sticking it to the man and such! What a thrill, and a relatively cheap one at that. Nice staff, clean store, plenty of parking and you won't feel like you need to get a third job just to support your *still legal* nicotine habit. On the rare occasions I'm out in this neck of the woods, I'll be sure to stop back in.

So we went to the car and it did it again so I walked in and said "listen we aren't trying to mess with you. It's actually broken". So he goes to get me a new one and catch's a complete attitude about how he shouldn't have to refund these blah blah blah. And I said okay thank you. He proceeded to walk away and say "mmhhhh. Get tf out of my store" under his breath as if I didn't hear him. Keep in mind, we were VERY nice the whole time we were there. Im sorry but if I'm paying for something it shouldn't be broken. I got a chopped brisket sandwich, sliced brisket sandwich and a full slab of ribs 75.00 spent. Chopped brisket was like bacon and super dry. The guy open a newly wrapped brisket to slice one of my sandwiches. Totally dry to the point we had to lots drink water to get it down. I tried adding alot of bbq sauce so it could go down. This has never happened before. The ribs were over cooked the outside was hard. Not sure what's going on but I noticed different workers and maybe something has changed. I called back to complain and was not offered a refund or something else to replace the food. Times are difficult and we don't have money to waste on food that's not edible. Wasted money...
