This is a bright, colourful, happy feeling shop, with products to match. The most noticeable…read morefeature is the wall of Crocs footwear, with every kind of Croc I've ever seen and more! A great colour array. The other main types of item here are homewares and fairy clothing for little girls. There are two separate corners for dress-ups, with wings and toys and tutus. A pity they don't come in larger sizes. The homewares are all bright and cheery, mostly things like pillows and ornaments and candles. This would be a great place for gift shopping. The back room is the most fun - the green umbrella, I love it! I can't help noticing the confusion about its address - it's listed online as both 2/131 and 135 Semaphore Road, and doesn't have an official website to confirm this. Google Maps says 2/131 Semaphore Road, so I'll go with that. Either way, it's between the bookstore and Furniture By the Sea. Worth a look!

Not only footware but homeware and gifts galor too for the entire family and friends network, they will be pleased if they receive a little something under their Xmas tree or birthday or just because. It's like a one stop shop for not only Xmas gift shopping but for any occasion as there is lots to choose from and you'll walk out with something. In the back section is a bright and colourful arrangement with a huge green umbrella - hardly bad luck for this shop though - and a variety of gift ideas and home decor. To the right is a bargain table with oddments at discounted prices. I highly recommend coming in for a browse and a purchase!

Even if there's only one street to go to in the Port, it's Lipson Street. One street scape with so much impact, imagine what the rest can be like!! Yeah I want it and I want it NOWWWW...sorry couldn't help myself. So ho inspiring with so many unique gift ideas and not only that but in your own home, spend some moolha on yourself too! Superb facade with super high ceiling reminiscent of the era, tastefully decorated, easy to view all the stock and reasonable prices. One piece in particular caught my attention and there's a photo of it with this review, the daintiest hand painted liquor glasses hanging off a wire like baubles on a Xmas tree. Placed on a stool next to the window sill with sunlight glistening off the glass, hmmm a melancholy moment. Not just homewares but a few pieces of jewellery also, a bamboo ladder with kitchen hand towels in dare I say retro theme and I almost bought one too, definitely a next time. Or even better my other half can buy it for me, will have to give subliminal messages through his Ipad. Soho Homewares is on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/homewares#!/homewares and please note their website is currently not active, so check later.

Hola Jackalope...mucho gusto! I would never have known this place existed if I hadn't been going…read morefor a wander through Port Adelaide on Sunday. What a beautiful sunny day upon which to stumble upon it too, Jackalope is totally suited to the baking hot sun on it's 1848 heritage facade, it truly sets the scene. The shop started about three years ago by two Canadian sisters' love of all things Mexican and so why not share the love. They're not joking when they mention 'hidden' because it's not in view off the main road, instead tucked down a laneway between Lipson Street and Commercial Road in Calton Street. I was even lucky enough to get a home baked cookie upon entry as they were having a sale on the weekend. Stocking Mexican jewellery, wall hangings, folk paintings, a unique range of greeting cards, etc. Up the stairway landing there is a wall of religious Mexican crosses in all shapes, sizes and designs. The top floor has more paintings and water colours by local artists, cards, trinkets, etc but the rustic louvre open window is what makes this loft room come to life. I can imagine it'll get quite hot up there in summer despite the insulation. Outside is a good range of ceramics, pots, rustic metal chimes, wire and metal outdoor settings, plus more and also Day of the Dead collectables. Their counter and office is actually on a bench in a working kitchen and they serve a hot ot cold drink too which is perfect to be sipped outside before a siesta.

It is always fascinating to look around the various areas: downstairs, upstairs and out the back. The heritage building adds to the attraction. The building was used to care for horses of patrons of the adjacent Port Admiral Hotel #OurPortADL #PortAdelaide For people who are walking in the Heritage Precinct and see the sandwich boards should definitely take the few steps to the location. I am sure that they would be impressed!

Centro Arndale is a lot bigger than it first seems, and its labyrinthine set-up can be confusing!…read moreIt's a great local shopping centre, as it has everything you need and lots more, so is great for the necessity of weekly shopping as well for some fun shopping on the side. There are two supermarkets and two department stores here - Woolies, Coles, Harris Scarfe and Big W, as well as three bakeries, which I think is spoiling us! There is a great range of clothing shops for younger and older women, and some casual and formal clothing shops for men as well. They have three Bric-a-Brac stores, including a Reject Shop and two similar independent retailers. The food court is small, but there's enough to choose from, if you're not feeling like bakery wares. There is also a central court which is getting ready for Chinese New Year celebrations at the moment, and has a stage for any concerts or public events. Add to this several hairdressers, banks, a newsagency and bookstore, a fresh fruit store, several shoe shops and bag shops, and you have yourself a great shopping centre with more local personality than the Big Boys like Tea Tree Plaza.

ok, Arndale has everything you would want a shopping centre to have, clothes, shoes, cosmetics,…read morefood, newsagencies, gift shops, bargain stores, cinema etc. But I sincerely dislike the atmosphere, I know it's mainly to do with frequenting this place when I was young with my father trying to find shoes, hours of looking for shoes...blah. It just feels (and looks) unclean and sad. I used to come here back when I was studying at Regency, very convenient, if you aren't looking for shoes you should be out of there pretty soon clutching what you need. Just try not to get lost, I wandered around in there for a good length of time trying to find the cinema, which by the way has a separate entrance, wish someone had told me that! I think with a coat of paint and a different demographic, I could quite like Arndale.
