Even if there's only one street to go to in the Port, it's Lipson Street. One street scape with so much impact, imagine what the rest can be like!! Yeah I want it and I want it NOWWWW...sorry couldn't help myself. So ho inspiring with so many unique gift ideas and not only that but in your own home, spend some moolha on yourself too! Superb facade with super high ceiling reminiscent of the era, tastefully decorated, easy to view all the stock and reasonable prices. One piece in particular caught my attention and there's a photo of it with this review, the daintiest hand painted liquor glasses hanging off a wire like baubles on a Xmas tree. Placed on a stool next to the window sill with sunlight glistening off the glass, hmmm a melancholy moment. Not just homewares but a few pieces of jewellery also, a bamboo ladder with kitchen hand towels in dare I say retro theme and I almost bought one too, definitely a next time. Or even better my other half can buy it for me, will have to give subliminal messages through his Ipad. I really love the new name and branding, it is super cute and matches the whole Japanese theme of the store. Well, not all of the stock is Japanese, but they also stock lots of cool art, jewellery, home décor and toys. This is one of my fav places to shop for gifts for my friends and family. You will find lots of quirky unique things in this store, like fake deer heads, cool mugs, quirky books and gift cards. I actually found some super cool Star Wars plates with Darth Vader with a top hat. That was a immediate purchase. You know those moments when you are shopping and you say "omg I must have!" Check out the jewellery in this store, you will find some really lovely modern styled elegant pieces. I found it very hard to choose from so many cute options. Some pieces full silver, others have beads and acrylic shapes. The staff in this store are super friendly and so happy to help you out if you are looking for something in particular. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they have a loyalty program which gives you discounts and invites to a special VIP party a couple of times a year. The sun catchers can be a little poxy, but there are also some very pretty ones. I think my favourite thing is the jewelry. I was originally attracted to the big spiders for hanging on the wall, because they are kind of unusual and not so real they'd freak you out; upon closer inspection the shop is crammed full of all sorts of really wonderful odds and sods. Bangles, beads, book ends, wall hangings, candle sticks, sarongs, bags, a few baskets; all pretty much imported stuff from all over the place. Not too expensive and a great variety of things. African carvings and probably Indonesian, Indian, some Australian as well, I've been in several time and still see stuff I didn't notice the first and last time, if you get what I mean. It is a family business (as in wife and husband), so you can rely on them if you are looking for something unusual to help you out - they know their stock pretty well and since so much of it is wood they do a fair amount of polishing and keeping things fresh. I really like wood so I really enjoy having a look through this shop. Some items are quite small and then they vary in size through to really large features objects like elephants and giraffes. Its fun browsing and hard to visit without seeing something you want to take home, so be warned!
