I can't believe I haven't reviewed Smoked to the Bone before. I have two big problems with this place - it's only open Fri., Sat., Sun. and there are too many things I like here. I usually settle in with one favorite item at restaurants we frequent. Here it's always a dilemma. Today the special was a ribeye steak with two sides. The steak was massive. It was smoked and had a great flavor. My wife got the fish. It is a Friday AYCE special but is available any day. Sundays they have AYCE fried chicken. You can also order a 4 piece meal for a lesser price and I've never been able to finish that. My "usual" is a 2 meat combo. I usually go for ribs and a sausage, but the pulled pork and brisket are both good. I didn't care for the turkey and have tried bbq chicken. For sides, I like the baked beans and fried potatoes the best. Had a baked potato today and it was cooked through. There is usually a soup special - the ham and beans is my favorite. Note that it is usually packed on Sundays at lunch. It is much better to go Friday or Saturday at lunch. I've never seen a line then, but then you won't be able to get the fried chicken! We eat here about twice a month and I highly recommend it. It's the best bbq in a wide area around here. read more

We go here every couple of weeks it seems. Friday all you can eat fish is pretty darn good. If we go on a Saturday I usually get a steak or pulled pork. Steak is usually good. Once in a while it's not cooked as ordered but tolerable. The pulled pork sandwich is very tasty and piled high. They have a small but very adequate salad bar that's fresh and cold. I get takeout once in a while. The brisket is usually very very good. Only once I've been disappointed as it was dry and bland but I drove 30 minutes. I definitely recommend this place. They work hard and the kitchen as you walk in is spotless. read more

If you want real barbecue, go to this place! They have all kinds of barbecue and smoked meats. They also have other kinds of things,wings , burgers, too much to name. I had the sampler platter which was awesome! And my wife had a bacon burger. We had pecan pie and strawberry pie for dessert , If you need a barbecue fix, this is the place to go! Update! I had lunch at this restaurant yesterday. I had the smash cheese burger and I have to say that burger was incredible. I have eaten at the restaurant in the past but never had a smash burger. Great place to eat. We had the brisket, pulled pork and burnt ends. All were fantastic. BBQ sauce was good but it would be nice to have several sauces to choose from. That's part of the fun at bbq joints. Beans & cole slaw was good too. Food was hot and we had it within 10 minutes of ordering. We will be back. We made the drive to Iuka from MtVernon to find a place in the middle of nowhere with high prices and bad service. Half cooked food and now they even charge for condiments. My baked potato was hard and needed to cook more. The ribs were dry hard and disappointing. I don't think I will return. I do not recommend this place. Very good BBQ with generous portions. I got the brisket plate with beans and slaw. This is my standard BBQ meal and I get it every time I hit a bbq joint. Others got pulled pork which was also extremely good. The only problem I had was the Cole slaw was a vinaigrette which is not my preference. This rates right up there with any spot in Memphis or Kansas if you ask me. Checking back in Nov. 2018 and still love this place. I take all my out of town work guest here for a great lunch. My family and I have been to eat here many times! The food is always good! The meat is delicious, salad bar is awesome, and sides are always great! Unfortunately, tonight my husband and I ate here tonight and the OWNER was horrible to us. She was unpleasant and rude as we ordered. I ordered an endless salad bar, or so I thought...a worker cane out to clean up the salad bar 35 minutes before closing...so I had asked if I could get more before he cleaned it up...the owner came out and gave me extremely rude looks and stared at us...my husband said, "we had an endless salad bar, sorry we got more before you cleaned up. She said no, you got a one trip! He said, "we can pay more if we need to...so sorry." She said no! Now we are EVEN!" I couldn't believe it! Very disappointed! read more

Had the ayce fish. Some of the worst fish I've ever had. Barely warm and greasy. Would not recommend. Service was ok seeing how you order at the counter then go pick it up yourself. Not much else to say. Probably won't be going back anytime soon. read more

My family loves this place. Nice atmosphere. Even better food. We have ordered a variety of things from the menu and have never been disappointed!!! Everything has always been excellent! Saturday's special is 2 pulled pork sandwiches and chips for $7. (You'll have to add your drink onto that.) It's still reasonable for the amount of food you get. We eat there all the time, we drive 50 miles just for it. Best BBQ within a 100 miles. Worth a visit. My only complaint is that they use to serve garlic bread with your food, I miss that, and that they are always running out of things.
