The art inside is something you may never see again. You must stop if you are in Newport. The hours were confusing to me, so give a call or look at their web site to see when they are open. The art, all of it, on display is wonderful. Each piece is set perfectly, the lighting perfect and the story behind each piece is fascinating. If you are a Rockwell fan at all, you have to go here. You may think you know Rockwell's but I saw illustrations I had no idea existed, from the cute to the serious to the beauty of telling of a time in US history. The John Rogers sculptures are really something to see. This was my first time noticing his work and I just stood there in awe. Enjoy.

Rockwell painted much larger paintings, for example the actual four freedom paintings are probably 4 feet by 6 feet. The detail required could never be done in such small canvases. Yes there are plenty of actual paintings and illustrations but not nearly as many as you would think.

Lots of people nerding out about stuff they're obviously excited to tell people about. The machines were both massive and tiny - something for everyone to appreciate! I was especially excited to see the motorbikes and some of the old radio equipment. And it was the first time I saw machines people use for Morris code! I'm going with three stars though because the place is a bit overwhelming and could use some help in the labeling/organizing department. The event price was $15, $7 for students, not sure what regular admission is on days without an event.

Came here with my husband for a tea event, and the grounds alone were breathtaking and relaxing. There is a trail that you can walk. There's also a gift shop and a pond and it's just also peaceful. Very serene view of mother nature I can see anybody being able to paint at this gorgeous peaceful area. You should definitely go online and see upcoming events. They have whiskey tasting gin tasting tea events if you like tea like I do, and even though I am more of a tequila person, I would definitely come for a whiskey tasting event. The pictures I took do not do it any justice as far as how beautiful the scenery is. The flowers are beautiful and so are the topiaries. It doesn't take you long to walk through, especially if you're like me and by yourself, but definitely worth the trip outside of downtown Newport to visit.

I have been to Linden Place many times and I thought it was about time to write a review of this…read morebeautiful colonial home and museum. Linden Place was built in 1810 by George DeWolf. When the sea was America's highway, the DeWolf family ruled along with the Browns of Providence, and as with the Brown family, the DeWolfs made their money in trading slaves. George's family and descendants occupied the house for 177 years until the Friends of Linden Place, a non-profit group, assumed ownership in 1988. Perhaps the most famous occupant was Colonel Samuel Pomeroy Colt, George's grandson. He started Industrial Trust Bank which later became Fleet and he formed U.S. Rubber which became today's Uniroyal Tires. This house is considered the "architectural crown jewel" of Bristol and it is important to the social history of the town as well. Walking around the house with a guided tour, you can hear and learn about the history of the house and the town, bright time and dark times. Learning about the slave trade is important because it was a part of our history, even though it was a sad one. The decor is exquisite, with the furniture, chandeliers, artwork and interior design set the same way it was in the 19th century. We have also enjoyed the outside grounds during wedding receptions, concerts, special events. The grounds are always immaculate so the events outdoors always shine. A beauty of Colonial architecture in Bristol.

They have a wide diversity of fish, reptiles, and even a couple of ferrets! I appreciated the focus around our local biodiversity and found my visit to be educational. They have many different touch tanks, including horseshoe crabs, eels, rays, and a huge sulcata tortoise. It's a nice, open space. They also have a small area with tons of cool books for kids and adults. Biomes offers birthday parties as well complete with animal feeding opportunities and a guided tour.

We had my son's birthday party here in the fall and it was wonderful. They open at noon because the earlier slot is reserved for birthday parties. It's super nice to have the whole place to yourself for a very reasonable price. There is a guided tour and the kids get to see all sorts of animal feeds along the way. A great spot to spend some time on a rainy or freezing day, or to host a party for an aquatic creature lover.
