To be honest I only had a vague idea of what I was looking for but the blokes in Castle helped me out as soon as I walked through the door. This is an old school DIY and hardware store - they seem to have everything behind that counter. The good thing about coming here rather than going to a chain shop is that I was able to walk in ask an expert and leave within 5 minutes. I also didn't have to buy anything I didn't need. They stock plumbing, electrical and decorating equipment including paint but I would suggest just going in and speaking to the guys who work there - they couldn't have been more helpful. What's more, the electrical blocks cost me under £2! Great value!

I'm not a driver so if something goes wrong or I need to get some paint, its hassle to go to one of the big B&Q or the other big stores. The staff have a great knowledge of everything they sell. I needed some orange paint and whilst they didn't have a certain insane colour (not my choice!), but they offered to get it delivered in withouth any extra charge. Pleasant, knowledgeable guys who will go that extra mile to help.

Awful story leading up to the reason why we contacted this company. We had been on a night out and…read morehad come home rather merry. Upon arrival my friend realised that she had locked us out of her house. We had to smash the panel window at the side of the door to let ourselves in (or at least as quietly as possible at 3am!) After we had gotten ourselves inside, cleaned up the mess and settled down, my friend went into her handback to get out her mobile, and the first thing she put her hand on.... her house keys. The problem here was the property was rented and the landlady lived nearby, so we needed to get this repaired ASAP. We got the first telephone number of a local repair company we could, and left it out to call first thing in the morning. We called and were told someone would be round within the hour. In less than 30 minutes the guy was with us, had the good grace not to laugh (too much) at the story, and had the job done very shortly after. Perfect!

This is an awful situation, there is no covering it up or blaming it on the dog when the ball lands inside the kitchen rather than outside. There is only one real solution when this happens, man up and surrender your pocket money and football for the foreseeable future and get a replacement window. If you are from the Bangor the man to call is Bill Moore, he is the owner of Window Repair Company, simple name that does what it says in the title. He can replace a window, fix hinges and locks all within a day. So you will be back playing football in the garden before you can say David Healy. Bill offers a personal yet professional service. In fact he has replaced one of our windows in under an hour and I only had to miss a few weeks of pocket money to pay for it. Bill more is a "glass" act! Best pun ever.

The outcome was the worst job I have ever seen in my life , poor work , in a hurry , back door not fitted correctly . large holes left in plaster work . In short , so bad , that the fitters were all given their marching orders ! Apparently they had provided poor work in other peoples homes also. So after sending out fitters with questionable ability and expertise ,who left my home in a terrible state they did not even sort the mess out , they did promise to send someone out but after waiting several days ended up having get it done myself. I feel sick when I seen it , they also promised to come out after the job was finished to check the quality and address any problems before I would sign off for completing the payment . Instead they fitters got me to sign a form for what i thought was for paying them the cash for the job. The piece of paper was folded in 2 so I did not see the heading Satisfaction Note .
