Please do not use him. In my opinion, his work is really sloppy, will not pass inspection, and he will risk miring you in litigation.

Yikes!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS CONTRACTOR…read more We contracted with them to do a very simple job of installing trim on our kitchen cabinets. However, when they were done they left a very large and unsightly gap at the top of the trim that was installed. I was told this was due to the unevenness of the counter tops. Normally, irregularities would be discovered and addressed when the field measurements are taken. But apparently there were some miscalculations, so we ended up with the gap. I offered to compromise and provide some additional trim to cover this gap in lieu of tearing out the newly installed trim and starting over. Unfortunately, when I brought this proposal to New Prairie Construction's attention, I was told it would cost me over $200.00 to repair their mistake. I'm unsure how this became my fault, but I'm very disappointed. In addition to the workmanship, we agreed to a not to exceed, time and materials contract. However when I got the bill, it was hundreds of dollars in excess of their original not to exceed limit. They eventually adjusted the bill, but it took several e-mails and discussions for then to own up to their mistake.

Jill and Julie are very customer-oriented and extremely competent. They helped us flesh out the basic design, which was a great start. Their crew did great work and the whole process was pleasant. My husband picked out all these non-standard fixtures but they adapted beautifully to do the correct engineering to make it all work. After the work was completed, we found one issue, which they came back right away and fixed for free. We look forward to working with them on our kitchen remodel this year.

Beware of this company. Make sure you get everything in writing. originally had a contract which…read morethey broke their own contract by making repairs without acknowledging us until after it was done. I knew as a consumer that it had to be replaced. We were in the process of buying and selling and it almost made us lose both houses. Stated in number 4. on their legal contract it states that included work and change orders are to be signed by the client. I however was not told about the change and charge to the roof until after it was replaced and done, I did not approve the extra $1700. I was not home at the time the changes were added and I was called while I was out and informed that it was already completed. I was not given a chance to contact the bank or the mortgage officer to get approval before they completed the work. They proceeded to place the blame on our realtor and mortgage company for their mistake and didn't even offer to fix their mistake or even refund us for the extra charge. When trying to contact them it is hard to get a straight answer out of them. My realtor and myself tried calling and they still sent the originally estimate. I sent it to the attorney general and both them and their lawyers ignored them, so they closed my claim. There is nothing more I can do but tell others to beware and find a different company. Had they actually tried to fix this situation instead of placing the blame game, I would give them more credit, but sadly I can't. The sad part is the new roof looked great and the roofers were very nice, we were happy with the end result, just not with how the money situation and customer service from the "Office".

We used Rector Roofing to install a new roof on our home. A year or so later we started…read moreexperiencing moisture damage on the kitchen ceiling and water running down the exterior wall adjacent to the patio when it rained. Rector came out and inspected the area in question and indicated there were no roof issues and said we may need to have our gutters replaced and the brick tuck pointed. We did this at a significant cost and the problems persisted. Approximately two years after Rector replaced our roof we emailed them explaining the situation. Nothing came of this. We then contacted a reputable company and had them inspect the problem area of the roof Rector installed. They pulled up shingles in an area approximately area eight foot by twenty foot. They determined the water proof under layment was not installed properly. First the under layment did not cover the drip edge which resulted in water penetrating between them. Also, the under layment has a film that needs to be removed which allows it to stick to the base wood of the roof. There was very large area where this film was not removed from the under layment which prevented it from sticking to the base wood of the roof. This resulted in moisture getting between the under layment and roof. We ended up having to replace a significant amount of base wood, having new underlay installed properly, and having new shingles installed at a cost of approximately two thousand dollar. We called Rector and let them know what had transpired and asked them if they would consider reimbursing us for some of the the cost of the roof repair. They indicated again their warranty had expired and they were not responsible. When we brought up the fact the warranty had not expired when we first brought the problem to their attention they accused us of trying to intimidate them and they did not appreciate our tone. Long story short, no reimbursement. Our decision to use Rector to replace our old roof was a huge mistake.
