Their equipment used to do the stump grinding was excellent and they had the job done in much less time than I expected. I wouldn't hesitate one second to refer Bird's to my friends and family

The first time I talked to Tyler, he was proud of his customer service, noting that he would not…read morecollect the full payment until we were 100% satisfied. Those were his words. And I believed him. His words were also these (I'm quoting from a text message): "Unless I receive payment in the amount we agreed on by noon tomorrow, I am filing a lien on your property and will have a lawsuit filed by the close of business" (June 17, 2020, 10:56pm). Yikes. What happened to the proud customer service? I don't know. We had made a verbal agreement for $X but he was requesting $X + $5,000. He had not presented a written contract, and I had taken him at his word. Mistake, I know. But despite numerous (daily!) requests for an itemized list of costs, he never presented one. Never! Not even at the end of the project. I still don't know how it was so expensive. I made an itemized list and it came out to $X + $1k. So I was happy to pay an extra $1,000. But not $5,000! I'm a young husband, and father to three little girls. That's a lot of date nights & diapers! Here are nine specific reasons I would not hire this company: (1) It bears repeating... he threatened to sue my family! (2) In my opinion, I got cheated out of $5,000. And honestly, more than 5k, given that he refuses to replace the dead sod (see #'s 5-7). (3) He refused to give me an itemized list of costs. I still have not received one. (4) A sufficient amount of dirt was not brought in to level out the yard. And if I had not requested, zero dirt would have been brought in! (5) He went back on his word from a text message, "I like Bermuda and I get it for $155" (June 9, 2020, 3:16pm), and verbally, "I'll lay the sod at cost." On the final day, he said the sod was actually $250/pallet and he had decided to charge for the sod labor. (6) All the sod died in the front yard. It's been twelve weeks, and he has yet to replace it. (7) The majority of the sod died in the back yard. I recommended we use Zoysia, due to the shade. He laid Bermuda. It has since died. (8) He did not prep the ground before laying the sod. I actually worked 12 hours one day with his crew because I did not trust they were laying the sod properly. (9) Speaking of his crew, he had one hard worker, who absolutely worked his tail off. The others were nice, but, (let's be honest) lazy.

Tyler gave us an estimate to have our entire back yard upgraded. We had sustained some damage…read moreduring the tornado and things had grown back without much "design". He and his crew worked morning to dark for an entire week prepping the yard for new sod, removing an old slate edged retaining wall and cutting down rows and rows of bamboo. The yard turned out beautiful! The sod has taken and even some spots he replaced in the front yard (for free) are growing as well. We never had an issue with payment as he charged exactly what the contract signed called for. I would absolutely recommend LDI for beautiful lawns.

My experience with Crafty Designs Pro and Joseph Wescom was extremely disappointing…read more I entered into a $16,800 remodeling contract and paid $14,000 toward the project. Despite having paid approximately 83% of the contract amount, substantial portions of the contracted work remained incomplete. Throughout the project, I repeatedly tried to work with the contractor to get the job finished. Multiple completion dates and written schedules were provided, but significant portions of those schedules were not met. Outstanding items included electrical work, replacement windows, a bathroom vanity, trim and finish work, tile, painting/corrections, and other contracted and punch-list items. Some materials that had been paid for had still not been delivered. I also had significant concerns regarding construction cleanup. Drywall/sheetrock sanding was performed without adequate dust containment while the HVAC system was operating, resulting in fine construction dust throughout the home. I documented the conditions and ultimately had to arrange professional HVAC/duct evaluation and cleaning. I gave the company repeated opportunities to complete and correct the work. When the electrical portion continued to remain unresolved, I eventually hired an independent electrician so I could move the project forward. Even after additional written commitments from the contractor to return and complete the remaining work, consistent performance did not follow. On September 16, after weeks of documented communications, missed schedules, incomplete work, undelivered materials, and additional expenses, I notified the contractor in writing that I considered the contract abandoned and that I would have to move forward with other contractors to finish and correct the project. I have retained the contract, emails, photographs, videos, invoices, estimates, payment records, and other documentation related to my experience. I wanted this project completed successfully and gave the contractor numerous opportunities to make that happen. Unfortunately, my experience ultimately left me having to find other professionals to complete and correct work after paying the substantial majority of the original contract.

On 6/7/2021, I thought their technician would replace the block of wood that had split and separated from my garage wall in order to fix my garage door issue. He instead just moved the unit lower on part of the old split wooden block and the bottom screw was reattached to my wall. This was a 10-minute fix; I was billed $100.00 and assumed he knew the correct solution to the issue. Obviously, he didn't because on 2/26/2022, I saw that the unit split my wall and pulled the old block of wood from the wall. I explained this when I called on 2/26/2022, and made the appointment. When the technician called about his 2/27/2022, arrival time, I repeated the problem. He had to call the office when I questioned the repair cost because of the one-year warranty. There were no materials on 6/7/2021, but the workmanship is still under warranty. I didn't feel that I should repay for the inferior workmanship of 6/7/2021, that didn't fix the problem. The problem was fixed correctly with a new block of wood on 2/27/2022, and I was billed $250.00. I wrote the company on 2/28/2022, expressing my concerns that I should not have been billed $250.00 and wanted reimbursement for the guaranteed warranty on the 6/7/2021, job. I never received a response from them and contacted the BBB on 3/18/2022, for help. Red Mountain Garage Doors LLC did not respond to the Better Business Bureau either. Perhaps they think that's the way a business should operate. I don't and your need to be aware of their sloppy workmanship and refusal to honor their warranty. OM - Tuscaloosa, AL
