Disgusting, out of date appliances that require maintenance often and usually require maintenance again, plumbing that is subpar (tub and sink take hours to drain after a shower and after having maintenance say it's okay), the pool which was a big selling point for me not being open majority of the summer, and just a general weed stench in most of the hallways. No elevator in building B so good luck moving your stuff and if you're in building A, have fun having a literal brick wall as a view. There are also random charges in your account with no explanation, usually only around $20-60 but annoying nonetheless. Staff are very nice however. Money goes towards recruitment and retention efforts with cute activities but not towards keeping the building in repair.

Have put in multiple requests yet nothing has been done. I have expressed to them that I keep getting sick from the mold but they couldn't care less. Poorly run operation and a terrible company. Avoid at all costs.

First of all, the view on the third level is absolutely magnificent. Our apartment faced the University farm, and we had a full panoramic view of the hills and trees, which was just amazing to look out onto as the seasons changed throughout the year. Management was extremely prompt with maintenance requests, and Robin (the property manager) was very attentive when when it came to any and all tenant concerns regarding noisy neighbors or loud parties (which happened on occasion, but were IMMEDIATELY squashed by security, and then the next day by Robin). I was particularly fond of the management policy whereby after 3 security calls made by other tenants to a particular apartment for noise, the tenant is then evicted from the property - that's it! OUT! In addition, tenants are charged $20 bucks for every call made as a part of a noise complaint to check out a particular unit. The deposit requirement was a VERY reasonable (and now unheard of) $200, and the utility costs weren't too bad (save for the silly way Allegheny Power tends to calculate monthly electricity costs). I also really liked the fact that each unit had its own washer dryer hookups (for which we rented a washer & dryer from the management as a part of our rental package), and the fact that you can rent a covered garage space (or two) if you want. Overall, the four years we spent there were very quiet and pleasant.

Before move-in, I was told they needed an additional week to clean and prepare the unit. When I returned, the apartment was filthy. There were muddy shoe prints on the bedroom floor, visible debris inside drawers and cabinets, cracked and separating caulking around the bathtub, water staining under the sink, peeling plaster on the bathroom ceiling, stains all over the walls, uneven and discolored paint in mismatched shades, and heavily chipped paint on the doors and trim throughout the unit. It looked poorly maintained and cosmetically covered rather than properly prepared. When I brought these issues to the front office, I was told that units are not typically cleaned outside of student turnover season, which occurs during the summer months. That directly contradicted what I had been told prior to move-in. After reading many other reviews, it appears that tenants recurrently report receiving units that were not cleaned before move-in, which suggests this is not an isolated incident. The apartment was marketed and leased to me as "renovated," at a premium rental rate. The unit I received differed dramatically from the model I toured during the leasing process. I toured twice before signing. What was delivered did not resemble what was shown. During my tenancy, I began developing unexplained bumps and later discovered a bed bug in the unit. No tenant should encounter those conditions, particularly at this price point. Due to the condition of the apartment and the discrepancies between what was represented and what was delivered, I terminated my lease. After I vacated and formally revoked ACH authorization through my bank, the property attempted to debit my account anyway. The transactions were initiated under a different company name and WEB ID than my previous authorized payments, and they attempted to run the charge more than once. My bank flagged the activity as unauthorized and opened a claim. This was not a minor inconvenience. It reflected poor preparation standards, inconsistent representations, and deeply concerning billing practices.

    This may come off as just a disgruntled tenant complaining, but please read this before renting…read morefrom the Domain. These apartments are built very poorly, with cheap materials. Windows are drafty, seals are bad, washing machines are rusty as heck, etc. When I first moved in, I was in a four-bedroom with three other guys. The room was absolutely filthy, there were about 15 shades of tan paint on the wall, and there was mold all over the bathroom. Don't count on the office doing anything either, it's run by college students that will tell you, "the manager is out of the office" if you have a problem. The wifi on my side of the apartment was down from October until April when I moved out. I called both the office and the wifi company every week, for hours, trying to get it fixed and nothing was done. I had friends, who had their apartment flooded, because some maintenance guys burst a waterline. Ruined books, carpet, and floors. Mold everywhere and had to move into a different unit halfway through the school year. Oh, and the amenities they boast about on their website? Forget about it. The pool is normally closed half the summer because some goober dropped glass near the pool. The grills are usually filthy or busted. The coffee machine is always down. Need I say more? You would find this apartment complex under the definition of the phrase "LIPSTICK ON A PIG." And what's better is that they keep raising the rent or tacking on fees like "pool view" or "scenic view" god forbid your bedroom faces something other than asphalt. For the expensive rent, high utility costs, and additionally fees, you are better off renting literally ANYWHERE ELSE than at the Domain. They advertise it as some really nice, quality place, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. You can find similar apartments for hundreds of dollars cheaper that are higher quality than the Domain. I'm begging you, please read this and think twice about moving here. You will regret living here.

If you tour here check out any other building once you're finished and you'll see. They also let my roommate and I move into a building with a known COCKROACH INFESTATION, and they won't do anything about it!!!! The managers are ridiculous and "not in" so they won't be confronted. Our building has been going back and forth with them for MONTHS trying to get them to fix it but all they've done is spray specific walls, so the bugs just migrate to other walls. This place is completely ridiculous. The wifi has also been out for weeks at a time since I've moved in. The unit was also disgusting when I moved in. I had to mop several times to get the water from black to gray, there were also pee stains in every room with carpet and the whole place smelled horrible. We have shampooed the carpets soo many times and the smell never went away. The cabinet doors don't shut even though we keep screwing the hinges tighter. The dryers also suck, you have to dry everything twice.

    Smells like weed every night. WiFi is never working. Dog poop everywhere. Appliances have broken…read moreoften (dishwasher, washing machine, heater). Staff is either clueless or rude. Takes weeks to get new keys or maintenance help when they randomly stop working. Gym is filthy. Tanning beds haven't worked in years. Doors to enter buildings are broken and don't lock.
