Dr Alan Smith spent a good hour with me. Best foot exam ever! So thorough. He actually touched my toes and feet and didn't just talk from across the room. Had many X-rays to determine what exactly was causing my toe infection. Along with that diagnosis, he determined I have poor circulation in my feet and will be sending me to local hospital for further tests. read more

Excellent customer service from the first phone contact to entering the office and being greeted with a smile by one of the many wonderful office staff. Dr. Smith has performed 5, yes..five surgeries on my right ankle due to five separate pathology's, and he has been a wonderful, kind and caring doctor from beginning to end. While I do not recommend five surgeries, I do however highly recommend DR Scott Smith. Dr. Smith always went with the least invasive treatment before surgery every time. Can I give a minus star? Don't come here. Dr. Alan Smith has no idea what he's doing and is totally unprofessional. After totally botching a ingrown toenail removal three weeks ago, I go back and he does absolutely nothing and tells me to come back in 3 weeks after completing the Zpac for infection. When I call the pharmacy they had never even called in the prescription!!! So pissed off about the lack of professionalism in this peninsula. They will not get away it. read more

I ruptured a tendon in my left foot (Tibialis Anterior) that rarely fails. "Rupture" here means, "completely torn from the foot bone and serving no function". After visiting many Monterey and Stanford surgeons, I was turned down by 4. Some had never repaired this particular tendon, and others just refused to take my call after learning of my condition. I finally found a surgeon with a national reputation through the internet and made plans to go to Phoenix for the surgery. The day before my flight, I visited Dr Scott Smith, just because I had not yet done so, and I had an appointment; Boy, was I surprised. Dr. Smith not only had repaired this tendon many times, he knew the Phoenix surgeon personally; they had trained together in med school. That was the beginning of the "ideal surgery". The anesthesia went like a nap, and I subsequently experienced no pain. Ok, I took one pain pill the day of surgery, and no more. I was in a no weight bearing boot for 30-45 days, went through 2 months of physical therapy, and am healing nicely, and, the entire experience was pain free. Dr. Smith discussed all details with me. I recommend that if you need foot or ankle surgery, you include Dr. Smith in your search for the right surgeon for you. read more

I was very disappointed with my consultation/s with Dr Smith. ( son ) He is rushed in his manner, not thorough in his diagnosis ( diagnosed me incorrectly ) and seemingly uncaring in his view. I decided to have my records sent to another podiatrist after having been diagnosed incorrectly, spending a lot of money and months passing, following incorrect directions from Dr Smith. I would not recommend this podiatrist by any means. Go see someone else. read more

I recently had bunion surgery preformed by Dr. Alan H. Smith, D.P.M. I have to say, it was one of the most pleasant (yes, pleasant) surgery experiences I've had. From office visits to actual surgery, everything was very professional and timely. The staff and Doctor made me feel very comfortable. The surgery was done at the CHOMP Surgery Center at Ryan Ranch. Everyone I encountered here was also kind, compassionate, and professional. It's been 6 weeks, and my foot/toe feel great. I am finishing up physical therapy with Damon and Associates (which is conveniently located in same building as Dr Smith ). The staff here is also awesome. read more

Like most doctors around here, I got nowhere regarding my problem after seeing Dr. Smith. I was referred to him by a neurologist for what appears to be nerve damage in my foot. After waiting almost 2 hours (with an appointment), Dr. Smith finally shows up, not knowing ANYTHING about his patient. He did not even know who had referred me or had any idea why I was referred there. After they took some x-rays, he said he doesn't see anything and told me to come back in 4-6 weeks, while he gets my information from the neurologist (shouldn't he have done that before my first visit?!!). I guess he just wants the extra visit payment. I do not recommend a doctor who is not prepared to see his patient. I still have no idea what is wrong with my foot. read more

Dr Scott Smith and Dr Deldar are incredible. I had a nail go through my foot 8 weeks ago. After two ER visits, CHOMP couldn't tell me anything, but it's healing. Every time my foot touched the ground, it felt like there was something in it or I would have severe discoloration. In the ER they told me this was from the nail hitting two ligaments. After seeing Dr. Smith he said he diagnosed me with CRPS. He told me I would need to come back and see Dr. Deldar. Dr. Deldar began a series of nerve block injections in my back. The first was to see if the nerve block would take. This was a success, so we recently just did another nerve block with a steroid injection. They have come in on days off, after surgeries, during non scheduled working hours to work with me. They are an all around office and don't only specialize in the foot and ankle. I love my PCP who I've been seeing for over 4 years now. If I ever have a problem that extends beyond my PCP, I will be visiting Smith Foot & Ankle Center before I see an ER or another doctor. No matter what the prognosis may be. They are phenomenal. I highly, highly suggest you seek out their office before going anywhere else. They know medicine and they know it well! read more
