Took an expensive guitar to Kick Axe due to a minor electrical issue problem not resolved and was…read morecharged on top they got chemical cleaner all over the finish Damaging the finish. At first they were concerned and as days passed less so and then a week later they just got mad. A month later clearly No plans to repair or have any contact no more. Legal action seems now to be the only resolve as they have no interest or have not communicated no more. I left several messages all ignored. This is not a wise business to deal with.

Yes they all have big selections and what not, but I just felt like I was left to fend for myself. It got to the point where I just stoped looking. I then thought of Harvest Moon from when I was living in Canmore. I decided to call up and talked to the owner and I described my situation to him. We talked a little about what I was looking for and we made an appointment. I showed up at his store and for the next hour or so he took the time to walk me through not only different guitars, but also different woods and shapes and brands and explained each one. Its was then a simple matter of trying each one and deciding which suited me best. His selection was very good and eventually I walked out with a Taylor that I love and is wonderfull to play and was the same price if not lower than the big stores. If your looking for that personal touch along with a great price and selection, you need to visit here before you buy yor next guitar.

Took my Taylor 510 in for a tuner upgrade. He kept promising to get me real Taylor tuners, but…read morenever did get them for me, promises that went on for 6 months, with excuses and put offs. Finally I agreed to try his after market upgrade, drove up to Canmore from Calgary to pick up my guitar as promised, a week later, and the work hadn't been done. The guitar had been left out of its case, where it is always stored with humidifier.I complained about the inconvenience of driving to Canmore to find that the work was put off and was told to come back in a couple of hours. When I did, I found t that the lower humidity in the store, caused my neck to warp requiring a truss rod adjustment. (or it had been twisted 'by accident') The new tuners left visible holes from the screws of the old tuners, that were not filled properly, and refinished. I complained about the damage to my guitar, it was totally unplayable, and was told to get out and never come back no charge for the tuners, and no he wasn't giving me my old tuners. I drove immediately to Chuck Shifflet of Shifflet guitars in High River, who for 200 bucks, fixed my truss rod, filled the holes left by the old tuners, and repaired a crack in the top of my guitar that was a result of being exposed to lower humidity. I found the owner of Harvest Moon to be hostile and his work to be incompetent, based on the opinion and evaluation of his work, by Chuck Shifflet, a professional who builds classical guitars that are sought after by fine classical musicians from all over the world. I wouldn't recommend this place.
