I had doctor Perrino do my extractions (all 4) and I really felt listened to and in good hands. He called to check in after my surgery which wasn't expected but very nice to receive. When I called a week and half after my surgery I was able to schedule a follow up (no charge) and he provided advice and stretching exercises when I came back in after I expressed concern about my locked jaw. My nurse Jasmin (I believe her name was) was also a real help when I came out from anesthesia. Hannah is at the desk to handle financials when you finish your consultation /surgery and I appreciated her insight and transparency when it came to the cost. From my experience, I would definitely recommend this office.

I am a shy person and came in peacefully (although in extreme pain) for an appointment that they fully scheduled a week and a half out (took my name and insurance information, told me to come at a specific time), but refused to see me as they never actually booked the appointment. There was a mixup about referrals, as my insurance does not require one, but it is "office policy" to have one. I politely told her that my insurance doesn't require one but she proceeded to mock me in the same way that children do when they don't get their way. She then angrily scolded me about how this is my problem and not theirs, and continued repeating herself until I internally accepted that she does not possess an ounce of empathy or problem solving skills and there's no way to find a solution together. I am sitting in my car in utter awe at how a manager can have such disgusting behavior towards a prospective patient. I will never be back here and feel sorry for the doctor who is losing business based on their office staff. I don't care what excuse she will come up with after reading this. You don't treat people this way, especially in the medical field, and especially when it was your office that messed up with the initial communication.

Dr. Wanatick is hands-down the most talented surgeon I've had the pleasure of having work on my…read morevery difficult case. In all of my years sitting in dental chairs, this is by far and wide my most positive experience with a surgeon, their front office, and the incredible work done. Since moving to New York 14 years ago, I have been seen and had work done by 6 dentists and 3 oral surgeons. I have never felt comfortable in their chairs, which is something as a patient, you really hope happens when you visit. I have been shamed for my teeth, referred by dentists to surgeons for extractions, aka teeth pulling "mills", where you feel like a number and all they do is put you to sleep, yank teeth, and send you home in agony. But when I was referred by my new awesome dentists to Dr. Wanatick, I knew the moment I walked in that I was in really good hands. I was anxious for my first visit and immediately put at ease by Dr. Wanatick. It was like he had seen my case 100 times and knew just what to do. I had curved and divergent roots on multiple sick teeth that needed to come out - problem is in an overcrowded space with no wriggle room, this can present as an impossible case to many dentists and surgeons. Dr. Wanatick's high tech x rays and state of the art equipment, along with his immense knowledge of teeth, bone structure, nerves, and how to best solve this case blew my mind. His team are kind, compassionate and competent. Everyone is excellent at what they do in Dr. Wanatick's office! He demands the best from his team and I love it. He treats them with kindness and respect and that says a lot about a person in general. It was like walking into a well oiled machine that feels like your living room, and are so full of knowledge and solutions, kindness and understanding. I never once even sat in the waiting room because they were ready for me - talk about incredible. We decided to break the surgery down into 2 parts - doing one side of my mouth first to ensure I would have a biting surface and the other side could heal. We started with the more difficult side on Monday which was 4 extractions and 3 implant surgeries. I was especially nervous about having to numb the upper area because that upper mouth shot has never not been painful for me - until Dr. Wanatick did it. I literally never felt as much as a pinch from his needle - he's THAT good. From past trauma post-op, I was expecting unbearable pain and swelling, but was again pleasantly shocked to have no pain the next day with just soreness, and very little swelling for the work done. It hasn't even been 48 hours since my surgery and you could have fooled me it even happened! The front office have called to check on me, as has Dr Wanatick. I've dreaded this surgery for years and thanks to Dr. Wanatick and his team, I'm actually looking forward to the next one. Thank you for helping me, for going above and beyond ti ensure my comfort, and more than anything - for taking away the nightmares I've had for years about my teeth. You guys are all doing the Lord's work and I am so grateful!

Everyone was warm and welcoming from the start- including the receptionist, Stef the dental assistant, and Dr. Angela Kim. Also, I liked how Stef noticed the dental light was shining in my eyes and moved it. The office is beautiful and I liked that they didn't push any extra products. I do think they are a bit pricey compared to my regular dentist, but for an emergency visit it was well worth it for me.

I will preface this by saying this practice was recommended to me and I am sure my experience is…read morenot everyone's My rating stems from my personal experience with this practice. If your teeth are otherwise fine and you are having no difficulties and this practice starts acting dramatically, painfully probing your gums claiming you have alarming bone loss and telling you you need more than a regular cleaning, like a deep cleaning or dental scaling and root planing as they told me, run and get a 2nd opinion stat!!! I did and found out from a reputable practitioner that East Madison exaggerated my bone loss, suggesting that I would soon lose my teeth, evidently to frighten me into agreeing to a totally unnecessary, painful and expensive procedure. I was told by my new dentist who also gently checked that my bone loss was not severe and I was not at risk for losing my teeth, dhouldI live to be 100 as long as I continue to take care of them as I have. East Madison is a multi-practice complete with endodontists and state of the art, expensive equipment and the money to pay for it all reasonably has to come from its clients. Understandable, that there would be a somewhat larger bill at such a practice if run ethically. Unfortunately, the temptation to push unneeded procedures must be high. Better to go to a well-reviewed small practice. I found this article useful and hopefully you will too if you find yourselves in a similar position.
