Normally I wouldn't leave a review but they did a fantastic job. Quick cleaning and very friendly people. 5/5

I made this appointment a couple months in advance. When I called I made sure to let them know I have an autistic non speaking child with a neurological speech disorder and hypotonia. I asked if they had experience with autistic children. I also made sure to advocate that I would need to go back with my child for his visit. our initial appointment got canceled and rescheduled due to shortage of hygienists. Today(6-30-22) we had our appointment. front desk was ok. The hygienist was very professional and kind to my child and I. I liked her and she was very understanding. My child did pretty well, I could tell they don't get many autistic individuals. once she showed him the scraper tool for plaque he got upset- nothing crazy - like any child would react, but we decided to stop and have the Doctor come see us. The denist didn't even say hello to my child, barely even looked at him. That was my 1st red flag. Her tone was rude and cold. She didnt even introduce herself- the hygienist did, Red flag #2. She tried to see if she could use the tool and her tone with my kid was also rude and cold, red flag #3. She then said we would have to reschedule and come back so they could use the private room(that wasn't being used to begin with) I stressed to her how I made this appointment months ago and let them know my childs medical condition. I was told they would need to restrain him next time in a device called a butterfly I believe it was called, and restrain his head. I was told I was not allowed to stay in the room. Red flag #4. I said I would like to be with him since he is non speaking, incase something happened,he wouldn't be able to tell me etc. she got angry nasty tone with me and said "what do you think we are going to do to him" I was taken by surprise she had the audacity to say this to me, especially her nasty tone. The nerve of her to be so clueless about special needs parenting and children with disabilities, not making accommodations for the unique needs of the child. Just because she is a denist does not mean she is some saint, that I should trust her behind closed doors with my disabled non speaking son. I don't know her or her staff- my child would be restricted not able to move and I am supposed to trust them? EVERYDAY autistic and disabled individuals are abused by medical professionals, teachers, family, schools, etc. how do I know they wouldn't hurt him if he was screaming and crying. they don't know him or his autism. How dare she get offended I advocated for my kid. unbelievable. I stormed out. I was disgusted by her. She had a nasty attitude, especially to a new patients. When I got home I hopped online and found some other special need parents saying terrible things about this place too. similar stories. One parent said her child was traumatized and they charged extra $40 to restrain the child and extra $60 for behavior- charging more because the kid was disabled not neurotypical. I wouldn't even take a neurotypical child there. Such an upsetting experience. Sadly, these will be encounters we will have in life in this ableist society. I wanted to give her an ear full. Thankfully we found a denist referral from a special needs group online. AWFUL!

Worst dentist office maybe in the world. Check their Better Business Bureau rating if you don't…read morebelieve me. Visit this office if you don't believe that either. They are somewhat friendly, but scammers and con artists often are. They told me I needed 5 root canals. I was confused as I hadn't really experienced issues that would indicate such a bad situation. No pain, no irritation, no infections... I am really dedicated to my dental hygiene. Insurance would cover some but not all of it. When I went to look at Great Expressions reviews, I realized I wasn't the first person they had lied to about the need for that much work to be done. Unfortunately, I didn't start investigating until I already had 1 root canal done. The crown they put in was way to big. They told me I was somehow getting lucky with how quickly it came in. The first time they put the crown on, it fell off a few days later. I called to make an appointment to get it glued back on. By the time of my appointment, the filling in the root canal fell out too. When I went in, they put the crown on a hallow tooth. The dentist told me it would be fine... Now I have a tooth with a gaping hole and crown over top of it which is too large and stands out. I am currently in the process of finding another dentist in order to get a second opinion about these matters and complete another check up. As I was walking out of the office after my last visit, I asked the receptionist for a copy of my x-rays. The dentist and another staff member made eye contact with a look of fear on their face when they heard me ask for that. I have documentation of everything. Depending on how my visit at a new dentist goes, I may file a complaint of sorts through my insurance. My family has had issues at the office as well mostly relating to finances.

They took the impression and put the temp back on. They gave me a treatment plan with a price of over $400 for a ceramic crown. I declined and said I wanted the porcelain over metal crown my plan covered with a $45 co-pay. They weren't happy. When I went back to have the crown placed, the dentist told me that the tooth would probably be irritated and if the fit didn't feel right in a couple of days, to return to have it adjusted. They placed the permanent crown and sent me on my way without ever showing me the work. I attributed it to Covid and keeping masks on as much as possible. When I got home later that day and removed my mask I was horrified to see a shiny, gold colored (base metal) crown! No porcelain! I called the office to complain and was told that was what my insurance covered and that it was explained to me at the time of service. Neither of which were true. I read my coverage carefully before my appointment! Very long story long, I had to file a complaint with my insurance company. The insurance company ruled against them. They are still refusing to replace the crown and I'm thankful for masks so noone can see the awful crown! The fight continues and I will not give up because I am right, the insurance company (who sent me to an independent dentist for an evaluation) agrees I'm right and they are despicable for treating patients this way.

As a former patient here, I do not recommend taking your children to this dentist…read more My sister and I were patients here as toddlers until we were 18 years old. The staff was horrible since we were children. They were rude to us, ignored our questions, yelled at us, even held down my younger sister when she was a scared 5 year old. Parents aren't allowed back there for a reason. In terms of dental care, they are awful. The orthopedic is amazing, no complaints. My sister and I both had wonderful experiences there. But the dentists are awful. They never answered our questions as children and even as an 18 year old. They would tell us they would talk to our parents instead. When it came to dental issues, they weren't taken seriously. We were always told to "brush more" and that we weren't doing a good job, even as 17 year olds who were brushing multiple times a day. They would tell us our teeth were fine with no issues, when in reality we had cavities and issues with our teeth. They wait until it's too far to fix these issues. After we turned 18, we switched to a new dentist. At the new place, 6 months after our last cleaning we were both told we had multiple cavities and issues with our teeth. My sister had to get a root canal when she was told her teeth were perfect 6 months ago from the pediatric dentists. At the new dentists we were treated with respect, and actually were given information and answers to our questions. We were given real advice rather than "brush more" and able to find the cause of any dental issues. This place traumatized me and my sister as children. We struggled for years and were extremely afraid of coming to this dentists due to the disrespect and awful patient care. There is a reason parents aren't allowed to go back with their children. I do not suggest any parent take their children to this dentist, take your money elsewhere for better care and a better experience.

I'm SO grateful to finally have a great Dentist! We've lived in the area for more than 30 years,…read moreand I'd previously tried many (more than a half dozen) of the supposed "best" area Dentists without finding anyone that consistently did good work or that I was happy with. Dr. Boltwood on the other hand is absolutely fantastic. She's gentle, compassionate, meticulous and detailed - something I very much appreciate as someone who's experienced exactly the opposite with so many other area dental offices. But aside from doing really solid work, I've found her to be a very down to earth, genuinely nice person who's easy to talk to and who takes a sincere interest in her patients. Even though I (like most people) never LIKE going to the Dentist, I'm a lot more comfortable going to Dr. Boltwood than I've ever been going anywhere else - because I know she'll do a consistently great job, take very good care of me while I'm there, and will frequently follow-up afterward to make sure I'm still doing OK. Others in the office including her assistant Dawn, office manager Kathy, hygienists Annie, Beth and Dee Dee are all great as well and it's just an all-around good group of people. My wife is also a patient and has had the same great experiences. In short, we can't recommend Dr. Boltwood and the rest of her team highly enough.
