I've been going here my whole life Dr. Rizzo and his team have been nothing but the best. Now I don't have anything to compare it to, but if it's not broken, why fix it. The cleanings are always great and the hygienists always double check. One example I can give of how great Doctor Rizzo is when I called up and said that I got my tooth knocked out in a hockey game. He had me in there the next day with the molding done to get a permanent fake tooth and he had me out of there in the mean time with a temp and I was able to show my face at work that morning. Excellent care by Dr Rizzo. I had a root canal performed 8am and immediately after the procedure, I went to work. There was no pain/recoup necessary. He is extremely experienced and gentle in his profession. On my return from Florida, I needed to have a molar removed and went straight to Dr. Rizzo. He removed all my fears and apprehension. So I've been with Dr.Rizzo for the last 5 years.He's fun.he's also an incredible dentist.Well I broke a molar last Thursday on some crappy popcorn so I call to get an appointment.Well dr Rizzo is unavailable so they put me with Dr Herila.Who?I don't know her,can I wait for Rizzo?Nope.Shes good.Everyone loves her....Well,I don't have a choice so off I go.Once I see the x ray I know I'm headed for root canal city....Dr Herila takes the time to explain it all to me and to make sure I have enough novacaine on board.She also numbs the area with gel before hitting me with the shots of novacaine!!!!Well,there was more infection than she thought there would be which meant longer chair time for me.Nothing hurt.She was incredibly detailed and gentle making extra sure to get all the infection out once she cleared the root.Root canals are considered " major procedures" but she made it feel like spa day.At one point I did need more novacaine and she left the room while it was setting in.The assistant who was also amazing (I'm so sorry didn't remember her name.The Polish lady)never once left my side.Making small talk made the visit so much more comforting.I am I think now past my fear of dental care and am looking forward to my upcoming follow up and next step in 2 weeks. I really enjoyed my visit to the office of Gerald V. Rizzo, D.M.D.. Im not a big fan of dentist visits, but this was one that I can say I actually enjoyed. From my first contact with Jessica, it was all smooth sailing. She was super attentive with my insurance and made numerous calls back and forth to me and my insurance provider in order to have me and my son all set up for our first visit. She was great and made a fantastic first impression. Kudos to Jessica! I needed a second visit and it was as smooth as the first one. Usually a first visit goes better than a second as on the first visit they try to make an impression in order to get you back in the door, not this place. I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Rizzo and his staff. I recently moved up north from south Jersey and was in search of a new dentist. When I first entered the office I was greeted by a friendly competent staff with nothing but positive energy. I went for a cleaning and was assisted by a very knowledgeable dental assistant who did an excellent job. I later met Dr. Rizzo who had great personality and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Rizzo took the time to go over my films explained some issues I was having, and never pushed me to have any procedure I did not want performed. Upon his recommendation, I had two fillings done recently. I can't express enough what an incredible job Dr. Rizzo did! Not only did I not feel the injections from the numbing solution, but Dr. Rizzo worked efficiently and delicately ensuring that the work was performed correctly. In fact, during the procedure, at many times he indicated to his assistant to take her time and not to rush to ensure the procedure was done correctly. As a new patient, there is nothing more refreshing to know that you are in the hands of a true professional and master of his craft. I didn't feel rushed at all. He answered all of my questions and took the time to explain everything to me before and after the procedure, as well as continually checking up on me during the procedure and asking if I needed anything or needed to take a break. After a little period of time for the numbing to wear off my mouth felt good as new! Not a single pain or ache from the procedure! Aside from his wonderful work, what really stuck out as a patient is Dr. Rizzo's personal follow up to me later that night after the procedure to check how I was feeling, and then again the following morning! I cannot recommend this office enough for anyone who is looking for a new or local dentist. Dr. Rizzo and his staff are truly one of a kind and their professionalism is second to none! read more

I have been with the same dentist for close to 15 years . He has retired and I had to find a new dentist which is as scary as finding a new hairdresser or a groomer for your dog. I found this dentist through my insurance companies website and was pleasantly surprised. The first time I called on a Wednesday, not knowing they were closed and got their answering service. They immediately contacted Dr.Rizzo who called me back within minutes to make sure I didn't have an emergency. I explained that I was just a new patient trying to make an appointment for a cleaning. I was shocked AND impressed that he personally called me and how caring he sounded. He had his office call me first thing in the morning for an appointment. I was able to get a cleaning appointment just a few days later. The office is clean, with all new equipment. I was seen early for my appointment on both visits. My family and I have been going to Dr Rizzo for almost 15 years! Everyone in the office is courteous, caring and professional. They saved me again this weekend. Toothache all week so I broke down and sent an email asking for a Saturday appointment. I received an email back at 5am warning me they would call between 7-8am. At 7:30, I confirmed a 9:15 appointment would be great. I was almost in tears from the pain as I explained I had dinner plans that night. Dr Rizzo assured me he would make it happen. About a year I and my wife came to doctor Rizzo t to get a PROFESSIONAL HELP because of the problem with abrasion of the enamel. What we got after his service:  original problem never went away, my wife had incorrectly installed crown with the gap between the tooth and a crown that may be a reason for infection, shortened tooth, undermined faith in dentists and moral humiliation. After that crown fell off, and he had to write a complaint to dental commission to get our money back for his unprofessional services. He never admitted his mistake, he never wanted to listen a second opinion, he never offered to give money back, and even if he would my wife was afraid to go back to Dr.Rizzo and have any services performed by him, she was afraid that he would do something bad on purpose to introduce a root canal problem, because it was the only thing that he was talking about in a very rude form. And when we went to another dentist to fix the problem, we provided all previous X-Rays and he said that onlay would work fine, but accordingly to doctor Rizzo crown was the only solution. So if you have a problem with your teeth and want to make it worse then go to doctor Rizzo. read more

Had 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled less than a week ago and already feel great. The actual procedure was completely stress free and everyone on the staff made me feel completely at ease from the moment I walked in. I couldn't believe quick and painless the process was! Hi Dentist shoppers! Based on GREAT Yelp reviews I went to Dr. Rizzo's Office. I was really seeking a great hygienist for GREAT cleanings. And my Yelp research led to this office. The hygienist that I read about on Yelp was Nuria (pronounced Nudia). She was a knock out. Beyond thorough. The most thorough cleaning I have ever had. And I am 54! She did not leave a spec of tartar/plaque. SO, if you are looking for a great hygienist for your regular cleanings look no further - NURIA! I did also have a dental exam by one of Rizzo's associates dentists. He was pleasant but nothing has come up on my dental exams in years ---as like today. I chose the office because of the great reviews overall and NURIA. And overall, my experience was great. Just like the rest of the reviews on Yelp. I started going to Dr. Rizzo a few months ago, after not going to the dentist for some time. I LOVE Dr. Rizzo and the entire staff! I highly recommend him as a dentist. Today I needed root canal on a tooth with an abscess and it went so smoothly, and most important - PAINLESS!! I went through the worst dental experience of my life with doctor Rizzo. Very unprofessional and rude doctor. His assistant Elizabeth Santos is not better. She unsuccessfully tried to take a cast for the crown 4 times. During that time saliva was all around my face and clothes. Nobody even offered a napkin and she had to wipe saliva with her hand. During this unsuccessful attempts she repeatedly hit my front teeth with metal tools, and I think everybody understands how painful it is. Finally, Elizabeth decided to ask Dr. Rizzo what is wrong and he told her that before taking a cast she had to dry saliva from the tongue. From fifth attempt she was able to take a cast and Dr. Rizzo didn't even checked it. At that time Dr. Rizzo was eating a sandwich while leaving the office (windows are facing the parking lot and I saw that). Looks like Dr. Rizzo believes in professionalism of his assistants because he didn't bother to check if the temp crown was comfortable or not, he left before his assistant even installed it. "Professional" assistant Elizabeth dropped the temp crown to the floor and just washed it under the tap water without even processing it with alcohol or something else. So she dropped the crown to the floor and put it in a mouth. Temp crown felt terrible and pain never went away. Permanent crown was even worse, it fell off shortly after he installed it. To fix the the problem I had to go to another dentist. And with my husband we had to write a complaint to dental commission to get our money back from doctor Rizzo. read more

Dr.Rizzo is awesome and does great work. The billing and financial department is horrible. They did work based on what the dentist felt needed to be done not on what was cover by my insurance. I pay lots of money in insurance and they drained it all. Started work on me without being clear on what was to be covered. Then told me after half completing the work that my insurance was exhausted and the rest of the work would have to be paid out of pocket. They did the same thing to my husband! They do great work but if you don't stay on top of how much things cost or ask for print outs of everything they will take advantage of people with insurance. read more

I have visited this office many times because I loved the convenient location, the modern eqiptment and the friendly staff. In addition to the staff Dr. Rizzo and Dr. Puccio are the kindest and professianl people I have ever met. They offer a veriety of servicess with the most up to date technology. I got my wisdom teeth pulled out in two sessions both top and bottomes with no pain and a speedy recovery. I did not feel a thing! They worked with my insurance and made sure my procedure was fully covered before I procedded with any work. Was also told that they do offer 3rd party financing if needed. I also got a crown done about 4 years ago and it feels like I have had this thing since birth. Had issues with it in the past but not after I met with Dr. Rizzo.
