You only get two sets of real teeth--- make sure your 2nd set gets taken care of by only the best!…read more In 15+ years of using Dr. Schwartz i've now come to realize that I had many cavities while using other dentists because I wasn't getting as good of a cleaning. I don't want to directly name my hygienist, since I don't know if she wants her name on here, but she knows who she is and I really have to give her credit for doing such a great job cleaning my teeth each time-- I certainly haven't changed my habits to make such a big difference! And just think, a good hygienist wouldn't want to work for a bad or unpleasant dentist. My time with Dr. Schwartz is short in comparison to the hygenist, but he's incredibly nice and I've had no complaints over any of the work that he has done. He pulled two teeth out as part of my invisalign treatment plan to make room for straight teeth along with two or maybe three fillings over the years-- all went very well and my smile and bite is better than ever. I've moved 7 times since 2006 and after one of the moves to the Baltimore area I was immediately looking into invisalign and the highly rated orthodontist that I found didn't do general dentistry but he recommended Dr. Schwartz so that is where I went. When I moved from Baltimore to Chicago for 3 years, and then from Chicago to New Orleans for another two years, I still flew back to baltimore for my dental appointments with Dr. Schwartz. I'm back in the area now and still seeing Dr. Schwartz with a mere 30-45 minute drive. If you live in Chicago, I'd still recommend Dr. Schwartz-- the flights between MDW and BWI are really plentiful and you can fly in for the day for an appointment. It's a bit harder from New Orleans, but still doable.

Imagine mixing a preschool teacher with a dentist, that's Shiny Chompers. They welcome new patients by name, and the reception is filled with TV, toys, tablets, and a large fish tank. Parking can be limited, but there is an elevator to take the stroller up to the second floor that the office is located on. They are incredibly thorough and make each session enjoyable and comfortable. They have tvs and sunglasses for kids to use during their dental appointments and always send kids home with a goody bag and token to use at one of the many vending machines filled with prizes in the lobby.

My daughter had a cavity and the Dentist suggested that instead of just giving my daughter a filling , a white cap would look better aesthetically. Trying to get my daughter to hold still for something that took that long was very challenging. This ended up being a two day procedure. I was not forewarned about how difficult this would be for a child her age. Because , of the difficulty ( she was terrified and it took 3 people to hold her to have this done ) the work wasn't done well. This was done to her two front teeth. Although she only had a cavity on one two both were filed , the affected tooth more . Within months the cap fell off.;(3 months) My daughter rarely smiles with her teeth showing since this happened. Before this she always had a big smile. I have taken her to two Dentist since and been told this was totally unnecessary work that was done to her. I know as a Mom this has impacted her self esteem. I thought this was great two women running a Dental Practice. I was referred to them by my regular dentist. But , now almost a year later I realize what a mistake it was to trust this practice. Every time I have to beg my daughter to show to smile big and she won't I think of this. I hope no other child experiences this

This is my first visit here, I saw all the great reviews on Yelp so I decided to give them a try…read more My previous Dentist office don't offer evening hours or Saturday and it was always hard to get an appointment that accommodated me. The Staff was so professional and welcoming. The check in was fast and efficient. I didn't have to wait long in the waiting room before I was called to be seen. The waiting area and dental rooms was very nice and inviting. Overall I am very pleased with my choice and I highly recommend if you are looking for a Dentist.

The swelling returned, then went away, then returned, then went away, and so on. At that point I suspected I was allergic to something I was eating, so I limited my diet to things I knew I wasn't allergic to, then added things back one at a time. When I started eating ketchup again, the swelling returned. It turns out I am allergic to tomatoes, which, according to Doctor Google, may cause blistering in the mouth. When a search engine gives you better information than a professional, one has to wonder what exactly these folks learn in dental school. Bottom line: never trust a dentist to solve a medical problem. They just don't have the knowledge.

However, towards the end of my…read moreservice and due to terrible communication by his dental assistance, his service and decorum declined drastically. Dr. Deroo became short in his dealing with me and lacked the same compassion and understanding that he delivered during the former part of my treatment. Because of this inconsistent disposition and poor communication skills, I would not recommend anyone (as I had done previously) to this doctor. FYI: I saw the aforementioned Affinity Dentist at another office.

Even if he came to me and said all of your teeth need to be pulled, I would oblige - instantly. He is incredibly gentle, calm and kind even with the more uneasy and squirmy patients like me. And, most important, he is insanely talented. He knows the exact amount of novocaine to use so I won't flinch - even once. He is also super discreet with the needle too. He has done the gamut of dental work on this 30-year-old mouth and you would never be able to tell. He recently fixed a tooth I chipped and made it look even better than before. He is a miracle worker! Side - but very important - note: He also has the best and most contagious laugh you will ever hear. I also have to give a shout out to a few of my favorite Affinity associates who always make me feel at ease and at home in the "chair." Wanda, Emily and Sharon - I heart you all long time! I have an "affinity" for Affinity that will never die...
