I didn't start with Dr. Gorman but his prior partner who didn't leave in the most professional manner. I'm extremely happy that the practice continued on because I swear if they didn't I would have let all my teeth just fall out. Dr. Gorman has excellent listening skills and definitely shows he cares about his patients. I recently had a root canal under IV sedation. This tooth is the reason I have such phobia and for the first time in 16 years I feel a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. He listened to my concerns and we agreed to a treatment plan that I felt satisfied with. Words can't express my gratitude. Seriously. I pray this man never retires. I have built a trust with him and if you have a dental phobia I encourage you to give him a try. Thanks to Yelp friend Chris S's review (and his and Kara's first-hand recommendation,) I made an apppointment for a 6-month cleaning and exam with Dr. Yockus. Where to start with the love? Dr. Y's office is in a small biz building in a neighborly and quiet spot in Deerfield Beech. Their office decor reflects that, modern and cheery with accents of seashore and local art. The vibe is comforting and local. His staff, including Shannon the receptionist and Rose, one of the dental assistants, are super -- efficient, friendly, genuine. And Dr. Yockus -- smart, friendly, as genuine as his staff, and a superlative dentist. As was my initial visit. He gave me my cleaning, which was painless. And, he talked about my teeth, gave dental advice and even a bit of Star Trek talk during it. OK that last part may be more cool to me, but even if you're not a ST fan, you're going to feel you're in good hands (and learn a few things.) Worth mentioning that while Dr. Y is a general dentist, he's also a prosthodontist, if you need that level of care. While finding a five-star restaurant is a great thing, finding a five-star dentist is a life changer. Dentistry has become such a marketing/profit-driven biz, so finding a genuine office with real and caring humans was a godsend. Thanks Chris and Yelp for this find, I'd give six stars if I could.
