The owner, Patrick McCullum, is just a great person. I searched everywhere on Yelp and through my…read morefriends and family, for not only a great mechanic, but, moreover, I wanted to find a great and honorable human being -- something that is SO hard to find these days! I am a 70-year-old woman living on social security benefits and when I realized my much-beloved 2008 Toyota Rav4's brakes were not responding as they should, I gulped deeply, knowing I may not be able to afford the current costs to keep any car running. I posted a Yelp project and watched the responses come in. Some were offensively overpriced and written with an attitude like they didn't want to be bothered. But something about the immediate response from Patrick that was not only polite, but caring and fairly priced (my nephew in San Francisco is a car collector who does his own work and is, fortunately for me, extremely conversant with repair prices on almost all vehicles, classic cars, old cars, new cars etc., and he told me what cost was fair and what was not.) Meeting Patrick led me to believe I had been led there by the "Big G in H" (wink). After being warmly welcomed in Patrick's lovely office, I was led to an equally lovely little waiting room to enjoy an ice-cold water, a TV, and a comfortable chair as I awaited my Uber pick up to drop me back home. I barely arrived home when I received my very fair quote via text (pdf so I could print it out if I wanted), from Patrick. I approved the quote and only about an hour later I was on my way back to pick up the car -- such a short amount of time! I live in Sherman Oaks so coming up here is not a short trip in traffic. But my sister still lives here in Santa Clarita, so I can just hang out whenever I need to make the trip to have Patrick upgrade my Rav4 in future. Well worth the trip. I love my 2008 Toy and only have 145,000 miles on it (that I hope to turn into 300,000 with Patrick's help)!!! I cannot recommend him highly enough. If you are tired of being taken advantage of by certain dealership service departments or sole proprietors who are, how can I say it kindly, "opportunistic" when they know you have to have your car working and working fast so that puts you at a disadvantage and gives them an advantage over you, try Patrick at Platinum. Not only is he a great business owner and mechanic, but also an accomplished painter, and Tae Kwando studio owner and teacher, and if you know anything about Tae Kwando, you know it is not only a martial art, but it also builds in you a strong moral center. I know this as a former Tae Kwando student, and I recognized that in Patrick. I hope this review brings you the same peace of mind I found in finding Patrick at Platinum Auto Repair. Have a blessed day! And your car too!!! I mean with the outrageous price of gas and new cars today...we all NEED a mechanic we can trust!!! Getting back on the road fast and knowing that your baby (car) is feeling fine again, feels a little like Christmas!

I would give this shop zero stars if I could…read more Based on my experience, I would never trust Supreme Automotive again, especially Ricky. I brought my Ford Transit Connect in after it suddenly lost power on the highway. After looking at it, Ricky told me the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. Because he came highly recommended by a friend, I trusted his diagnosis. Ricky then offered to buy the van from me. Believing the transmission was bad and that I was facing a very expensive repair, I sold it to him for $4,000. Had the transmission actually been bad, that may have made sense, but a working Transit Connect like mine was worth around $12,000-$14,000. Later, I bought another Transit Connect, and the exact same thing happened while driving on the highway. This time I took it to a Ford dealership. The technicians found that a broken vacuum hose was causing the engine to lose power and stall. It was not a failed transmission. Looking back, I believe I was misled about the condition of my first vehicle. If it had been properly diagnosed, I may not have sold it for a fraction of its value. I believe I lost close to $10,000 because I relied on that diagnosis. This was my experience, and I encourage anyone considering this shop to get a second opinion before authorizing major repairs or selling a vehicle based on their diagnosis.

From the first phone call to check availability, I was met with professionalism and kindness by Julie. She got me in the books and 90 minutes later I was pulling in for my appointment. Julie set right to work with questions about my vehicle. What type of oil had I been using? Ummm...the brown one??? LOL No worries she would look it up and they would use manufacturer recommended. Additionally, she would have the tech run a check for any code alerts in the car. Now that everything is connected to on board electronics, this type of a check is standard, but I didn't know that and I should be aware if the manufacturer is flagging anything this way. In the end, no flags detected! This is a family run operation that's been in business for over 33 years. Julie was so great at getting my intake paperwork completed and into the queue. Hubs came with and we sat down in their comfortable waiting area. Another person was waiting, a young lady, pleasantly engaging with Julie btwn incoming phone calls. The young lady and her family have been coming to 60 Minute Tune for years and only trust them with their vehicles. In addition to that endorsement, we looked at pictures everywhere of - cue REM & Kate Pierson - happy, shiny people: customers (and their pets!) that are such an important part of 60 Minute Tune, they honor them on the walls of their business. While we waited, Julie made a point of getting to know us while fielding calls in a pleasant and familiar voice to customers calling for appointments or status of cars being worked on. Nosey Gladys Kravits that I am, I listened and appreciated how easily she spoke of what was being worked on, describing things like alternators and how they work, but not saying more than a mechanic had finalized on a particular job, so as to not misinform them. The oil change took less than and hour and was in line with the cost of previous oil changes. By the time the paperwork was completed, we had a plan of staying on top of the oil consumption of my Hyundai, which is known to have a habit of burning oil quickly, in order to get that situation rectified. I left feeling a weight had been lifted from my shoulders and I had a new auto shop to rely on. Thanks, Julie! You're a gem and a great representative of 60 Minute Tune. Cheers! "CC"
