I am new to business so when I first spoke with James Harnsberger I felt like he was really going to help me in creating my company. He told me he'd be available to me to walk me through the application process. It felt like it would be great, Especially because I had no idea what I was getting into when starting my business. I loved the comfort he provided in that initial consult. After a 1 conversation with James Harnsberger, I noticed he was very insistive that I "just fill out the forms". He didn't want to answer any of my question and was aggressive over the phone not making me feel comfortable to ask more questions. After 5 minutes on the call he said "we have to go we have other calls to get to". SMIB was prompt in communicating only when asking for my money and refusing to refund me my full amount. Very other time it took 1-2 days for them to respond to me. I decided that this was not what was promised to me and that we would not work well together. So I asked for my money back. At this point all we have done was exchange email back and forth, nothing was in the works yet. James Harnsberger refuses to refund me my money saying he is charging me $300 for the 5 emails we exchanged and 5 minute conversation we had. I wanted to make this post because I want to help this company get better at servicing clients who need help and guidance around opening a corporation. James, I'm not mad about the $300. It sucks that there's people that do this out there but I can't control that. I know you've helped some people already (I can tell by some positive reviews on here), but this isn't right. I'm wanting to donate my $300 to your company to invest in helping you guys improve your service with clients. Learn from this and strive to help people feel more comfortable working with you. Take time to answer simple questions. Call people back when they ask for your help. Learn to listen. Doing these simple things will help you reach more clients and make a bigger impact for people. I called about my elderly parents, unsure what I could do to help them. I was given step by step instructions on how to fix or resolve the problem with the IRS free of charge. I am so grateful because the IRS was keeping my parents from being able to pay for a place to live and I was glad to figure out the best way to help them. My father is a veteran and is near death and they continue to garnish his disability and we can't find a suitable living situation for him because of it. So thank you thank you thank you. Is it possible to do a negative star? Do yourself a favor and run the other way as fast as possible. I got nickel and dimed to death by this company for 5 years but I was too scared to leave because they knew my case. Little did I know they didn't know my case at all. They just liked to act like they reviewed it so they can charge me. They did a piss poor job representing me and then took almost a hundred thousand dollars from me in return. RUN don't walk. Please also keep in mind that they are on their third business name since I worked with them. Plus various multi-level businesses and coaching. When you have multiple non filed tax years, back taxes due, calls and letters to the house and James and staff get it all cleaned up, there's no way to give them less than 5 stars. I couldn't give a dollar value in the stress relief it was to get completely filed and have an action plan. As new parents to a baby girl, James and his staff were diligent with my case but mindful of our time, holding our hands the whole way. I was scared, embarrassed and sort of hoping it would go away and James basically said "let's go, I'll help you" Been referring him all my best friends ever since. read more

I 100% back up the negative comments about this guy. He is unprofessional and aggressive at blaming his clients for his failures. He's aggressive at getting your money and using scare tactics but that's where his efforts end. Now watch what happens next. This man is going to comment on my comments and he is go to shift blame and lie. This is his character flaw folks. He has a huge ego and is a narcissist. He did the same thing to me that he's done to others. He did nothing for me but file for a late filling and then stall my tax returns missing the late filling deadline and still has nothing to provide to me fit what he accomplished. Again he will lie and he will blame me his client. Watch and observe. Oh and also, at least some of the five star ratings are from employees and probably people he asked to give him 5 stars to counter the negative ratings. Please find a different company.
