Front office is awful. Unhappy people I think. Called everyday for one week with no return call…read more Goes straight to voicemail. Gave them both my numbers. They finally left a message on one of the numbers without trying the other..

I've seen several of my portal messages to the provider team get saved, then later they disappear. Voicemail is rarely returned. Call queues end up putting you into a voicemail box. I heard from 2 different employees over the years that they are not even checked. One clinical employee I spoke with told me she often goes home crying because she feels they are operating at understaffed levels that are dangerous to patients. Last year I had severe breathing issues and an ER doc recommended I be seen immediately by a pulmonologist. Chest Medicine's response? An appointment 2 1/2 months later with a pulmonologist I've never met. I canceled it several days before because I got help elsewhere. Sorry. Couldn't wait 2.5 months to breathe properly. Today I was on the phone with an employee after apparently falling through the cracks again. (Two months ago I was put on a wait list for cancellations to squeeze me in because I was having repeat breathing issues. Haven't heard from them.) During the call today this employee REPRIMANDED me by saying "look, if you cancel appointments we can't help you". I said that 2 1/2 months is a long time to not be able to breathe, and that by the end of today I would like an appointment in a reasonable timeframe since these issues are happening again. If I don't get one, my next action is not going to be another unanswered portal message or another unanswered voicemail. It will be to share my concerns about CMA with the state licensing board. She immediately transferred me to her manager because she said I was threatening her. ?? Left a voicemail for her manager, but also sent my PCP a request to refer me to another practice. Chest Medicine Associates seems to be falling apart at the seams, and it is just getting worse. Sidebar: Their website lists NO information about administration or complaints. Even their 5 or 6 open positions listed in "Careers" all yield a "404" error. Useless. Unprofessional. I cherish breathing, so I'm going to another practice. I also cherish trust. I am never able to trust that I will get a response from them even when my messages are urgent. Its a clown show there. Don't get frustrated. My suggestion: read all the other reviews here (and elsewhere), then decide for yourself how important your pulmonary health is, and how many phonecall/voicemail/portal-message hoops you're willing to jump through to get help.

I have lived in New England for a while but had yet to get established with a good sleep specialist…read morefor my Narcolepsy with Cataplexy and other issues. Dr. Gregory Smull is absolutely phenomenal. He has a very nice bedside manner and is the best Sleep Doctor I have had since I had Dr. Wooten in Cincinnati, OH. He is very knowledgeable regarding Narcolepsy but didn't act like he knew everything, and he clearly has a good grip on the "One size doesn't fit all" when it comes to misunderstood diseases like Narcolepsy. It was worth the 45 minute drive to Derry NH to have my first appointment and he took the time to review all my records and didn't question me when I asked to be put on the medications that I know that work for me. If you have Narcolepsy or think you have a sleeping disorder I would highly recommend you scheduling an initial appointment with him. One last thing, I was most impressed with him because he agreed that I shouldn't need to do another MSLT test. The other doctor I have seen here absolutely would not consider helping me until I had the test and that test in particular is very difficult for me to do. Once you are diagnosed with Narcolepsy it doesn't just suddenly go away, he said. If anything it gets worse. So I am glad that he took the time to try to understand my individual needs and had compassion. His office staff is second to none. Very friendly. I didn't feel like I was just "another patient", and when I called the following day to check on one of my medications they knew me just by my name..
