I went in Tuesday, 8/22/17, and requested low lights & a cut. I am a blonde and I explained to the stylist, Carolyn, that I wanted low lights to create some contrast and help to blend my roots. Carolyn showed me color examples and we discussed that I wanted the low lights to be a couple shades darker than my current all over color but not so dark that I look brunette. After Carolyn finished the color application and trim, she began to blow dry my hair so that we could see the final color. As she began drying, it was clear that there was no color difference. So clear, that she commented on it before I said anything. Carolyn made the comment that she could not see the color that had been applied and offered to fix it. I wasn't pleased that I would have to come back because between work, taking two classes and being a mom I have very little expendable time, however, I appreciated that she identified the problem and was going to correct it. So, we agreed that I would come back on Thursday, 8/24/17 at 4:00 p.m.
I hoped that I would be able to see the low lights in different light or that others would notice it and I wouldn't need to go back. Sadly, that was not the case and after asking my husband, co-workers and several friends, they confirmed that they could not see any low lights and my hair color looked the same as it did prior to the appointment.
I went in to have Carolyn correct it and apply low lights that could actually be seen. Once I was seated she immediately began looking through my hair stating that she could see the low lights. Then she said that I had chosen the wrong color and that she had recommended a darker color. I explained that, that was completely false and that she is the stylist. I hadn't insisted on any particular color. I explained what I wanted and trusted her to execute it as the professional. She continued to argue with me and insinuate that it was my fault. She was extremely defensive and rude. I have never, ever had such an unprofessional experience. I pointed out to her several times that she noticed the lack of color before I said anything at all and offered to fix it which, I appreciated until I came back and was treated so poorly. Carolyn kept saying that if she did the low lights again that she couldn't guarantee the color. By this point, Carolyn had upset me so much by the way she was speaking to me and she was showing a lack of confidence in correcting the color so, I decided it would be best to leave. I asked her to return my money for the color at least, but she said she wouldn't do that. So essentially, I just spent $100.00 for a trim. Worst experience ever!!! read more
