Review for Beyond Debt…read more I joined beyond debt on 5/18/25 with three debts to be negotiated. My first deposit was on 5/28/25 biweekly in the amount of $217. The first resolution offer was on 7/15/25 they got $2076 reduced from $6921. Beyond finance immediately took $1650 for the settlement as they get a percentage per settled debt. My credit score after two months went from 625 to 506. On 8/26/25, my credit score went up to 518 and I was still waiting on my next settlement offer. I got my next offer on 10/10/2025. The debt was 9,101 and they settled for 6,371 less than 10 days later my credit score went from 518 to 541. This is a long process and if you are so busy that you are not able to negotiate these on your own it may be worth it for you. However, remember even if they get the debt down most of the debt reduced goes to them. In December 2025 I had financial hardships and requested that Beyond Debt skip a payment and change the date it was withdrawn. That was easy to do they rescheduled the withdrawal quickly. In January 2026, my credit score went down to 531. June 8, 2026, beyond dept has still not made a deal with my last creditor. However, my credit score jumped up to 566. This is due to the payments made on the two creditors with beyond dept and I had kept one creditor off the list who I only owed 1000 too and I continue to pay it off and use it. I also have opened two creditors that you earn credit by adding money to the card using it and paying it off. On August 3rd 2026, my credit score went up to 598. This was not due to beyond debt but due to the fact that I had opened other forms of credit to slowly rebuild my credit. Beyond debt still had not been able to resolve my last debt it started looking like I would have to somehow repair that one on my own. The only debt they did resolve cost me a lot of money and later I found out it was an easy debt I could have resolved on my own. Honestly in the end I do regret my decision to go with beyond debt it didn't help me it actually made things worse.

I would not recommend Beyond Finance based on my experience…read more I paid a total of $2,838.22 into the program. During that time, only $100 was paid to one of my creditors. The rest of my money went toward fees while my accounts continued to accrue interest, late fees, and become more delinquent. None of my accounts were successfully settled before I canceled the program. By the time I left the program, I was in a worse financial position than when I started, and my credit had taken a significant hit because my accounts went unpaid during the process. When I requested a refund of the fees, I was told they could not refund them because the services had already been "rendered." Looking back, I would have been better off putting that money directly toward my credit cards or working with my creditors myself. At least then I could have avoided paying thousands in fees while also damaging my credit. Make sure you fully understand how this program works and where your money is actually going before signing up.

She has advised me through many of my life's major transitions: Single Life, Married Life, Starting a Business, and Long Term Traveling. I met Jessica when I was single. I was financially unorganzied and only had a checking and savings account. With her help, she got my finances in order by diversifying my savings across many different products & platforms and helped me set up financial goals. When I got married, she helped me with the transition and guided us with merging our finances together (a daunting task for any couple, which made our lives easier). She helped advise us on some products that would benefit a married couple, made sure that we were financially secure, and offered advices on other areas that we should be concerned about. When I started a small consulting company, Jessica helped me with the finances of getting a new business off the ground. She created a business account for me and worked to diversify the business income and a retirement savings plan. Most importantly, Jessica's helped us plan out our year long travel/career break. She worked with us to make sure we were financially ready for us to quit our jobs and travel on our savings without depleting it completely. Jessica worked with us on establishing a budget and a stretch budget (since traveling long term is unlike traveling for vacations). She was alway available to us while we were on the road if we needed any information or to make a transfer of funds if we needed it. She was a great asset to have while we were on the road. It help us enjoy our travel with one less thing to worry about.

I was pretty intimidated with the idea of meeting with a financial planner, initially. In fact, I really didn't feel ready! I was pretty sure that I would want to have a lot more money in my bank accounts before "planning" would make any sense. Boy was I wrong! As Jessica helped me understand, it is important to plan from the beginning, even before you start making big investments or before your business takes off, so that you can build on a solid foundation. Jessica is easy to talk to, and helps me understand why what I do today is important for my future, and the future of my business. Now when I think about my finances, I don't immediately start having palpitations, because I know I have a plan in place and Jessica is helping me! I can rest easier. I highly recommend working with Jessica Merino, even before you think you are ready!

This year, I decided to fully invest in professional services and officially set up a business so I reached out to him. Sadly, he said he was already booked up for the season. I am glad that he was upfront about that and isn't trying to overbook and under deliver. I appreciate his professionalism and will try to get my bid in early for next year.

I write this review on 4/19, with my taxes still not filed by John and no response to my emails…read more  Admittedly, I came to John with a mess of current and previous taxes. He accepted this mess graciously and I paid him $700 for his services. This was on February 15th. Since then, I have followed up with him several times over a span of several weeks, with a CC to his assistant, and have either received assurance that my taxes would be completed prior to the due date or simply no response at all.  I took a leap by trusting someone that I came across on the internet with good reviews but as I sit here filled with anxiety, I'm realizing that was a huge error in judgement.  Learn from my mistake and don't simply trust the good reviews. Do your homework and maybe stick with the larger corporations where you know the work will get done. UPDATE based on John's response: The dates provided by John are correct, however, they do not excuse an Accountant hired to complete taxes prior to the April 18th deadline failing to file said taxes. John, check your emails and you will see that all information, including the information you asked for most recently, was absolutely completed and uploaded to Dropbox. The fact that you are accepting no blame for not responding to multiple requests from a client in addition to not filing taxes by the due date is appalling considering that it's exactly what you were hired for. Regardless to any amount of refund, you didn't alert me to this until April 21st, three days after taxes were due and I had already told you that I was taking my services elsewhere. As mentioned in my final email to you, I strongly advise assessing your workload prior to accepting new clients. You knew exactly what you were agreeing to 2 months prior to the tax deadline and assured me that my taxes would be filed. Lastly, for anyone who has read this far. I am attaching a copy of John's list of excuses as to why the taxes weren't filed on time.
