What a nightmare. I changed most my depth to a different Depth company in 2024 because the lack of…read morecommunication and never knowing were I stood. The portal does not give good communication either. You get someone that will answer your questions one time and then another person that gives you nothing and confuses the question more. I kept 2 accounts with Beyond due to settlements they had started. One was fine, but this last one is now a huge issue. I am seeing reviews that their fees are over the top. I knew there were fees, but WOW! I called and spoke to someone the end of last year, which today they said I did not. (They do have records of a chat and emails.) There was a large balance at the end of my payments and I wanted to know what it was for. The person I spoke with never answered my question or explain that I would have to pay this at the end of the time frame or it would effect my settlement. I called today and now I was told I have to pay the large amount, or maybe they can pay it for me and I will have to make more monthly payments. It is not decided yet. Long story short, if the person I talked to at the end of the year would have told me this, I would have made larger payment and budgeted to have this paid off. Now I am sure I will be paying more fees to them. I had the money to pay this in February, but paid another depth because I thought I was okay. Be very careful if you use this company. Keep up with everything and put everything in writing. Or better yet, pick a deferent company. Note; I never missed a payment, my credit was getting better and now I may fall back due to Beyond Finance not caring about the people they are supposedly helping. ):(

She has advised me through many of my life's major transitions: Single Life, Married Life, Starting a Business, and Long Term Traveling. I met Jessica when I was single. I was financially unorganzied and only had a checking and savings account. With her help, she got my finances in order by diversifying my savings across many different products & platforms and helped me set up financial goals. When I got married, she helped me with the transition and guided us with merging our finances together (a daunting task for any couple, which made our lives easier). She helped advise us on some products that would benefit a married couple, made sure that we were financially secure, and offered advices on other areas that we should be concerned about. When I started a small consulting company, Jessica helped me with the finances of getting a new business off the ground. She created a business account for me and worked to diversify the business income and a retirement savings plan. Most importantly, Jessica's helped us plan out our year long travel/career break. She worked with us to make sure we were financially ready for us to quit our jobs and travel on our savings without depleting it completely. Jessica worked with us on establishing a budget and a stretch budget (since traveling long term is unlike traveling for vacations). She was alway available to us while we were on the road if we needed any information or to make a transfer of funds if we needed it. She was a great asset to have while we were on the road. It help us enjoy our travel with one less thing to worry about.

I was pretty intimidated with the idea of meeting with a financial planner, initially. In fact, I really didn't feel ready! I was pretty sure that I would want to have a lot more money in my bank accounts before "planning" would make any sense. Boy was I wrong! As Jessica helped me understand, it is important to plan from the beginning, even before you start making big investments or before your business takes off, so that you can build on a solid foundation. Jessica is easy to talk to, and helps me understand why what I do today is important for my future, and the future of my business. Now when I think about my finances, I don't immediately start having palpitations, because I know I have a plan in place and Jessica is helping me! I can rest easier. I highly recommend working with Jessica Merino, even before you think you are ready!

This year, I decided to fully invest in professional services and officially set up a business so I reached out to him. Sadly, he said he was already booked up for the season. I am glad that he was upfront about that and isn't trying to overbook and under deliver. I appreciate his professionalism and will try to get my bid in early for next year.

I write this review on 4/19, with my taxes still not filed by John and no response to my emails…read more  Admittedly, I came to John with a mess of current and previous taxes. He accepted this mess graciously and I paid him $700 for his services. This was on February 15th. Since then, I have followed up with him several times over a span of several weeks, with a CC to his assistant, and have either received assurance that my taxes would be completed prior to the due date or simply no response at all.  I took a leap by trusting someone that I came across on the internet with good reviews but as I sit here filled with anxiety, I'm realizing that was a huge error in judgement.  Learn from my mistake and don't simply trust the good reviews. Do your homework and maybe stick with the larger corporations where you know the work will get done. UPDATE based on John's response: The dates provided by John are correct, however, they do not excuse an Accountant hired to complete taxes prior to the April 18th deadline failing to file said taxes. John, check your emails and you will see that all information, including the information you asked for most recently, was absolutely completed and uploaded to Dropbox. The fact that you are accepting no blame for not responding to multiple requests from a client in addition to not filing taxes by the due date is appalling considering that it's exactly what you were hired for. Regardless to any amount of refund, you didn't alert me to this until April 21st, three days after taxes were due and I had already told you that I was taking my services elsewhere. As mentioned in my final email to you, I strongly advise assessing your workload prior to accepting new clients. You knew exactly what you were agreeing to 2 months prior to the tax deadline and assured me that my taxes would be filed. Lastly, for anyone who has read this far. I am attaching a copy of John's list of excuses as to why the taxes weren't filed on time.
