    I've been shopping for home security for my rental properties for several months. I've looked at…read moreevery option and company that services Tampa Bay for my needs. Vivint was the best option for several reasons. Sales/phone support was nearly 5 stars. Connor and Brandon are an excellent part of this process. They did have a dud, but this happens with every company. I really liked that I don't need internet to monitor the home. It works off cell service or wifi. The failure came on the day of installation, and it was super annoying! I confirmed appointments online and morning of installation. I then called inside of the install window to narrow down a time. It was during this call that it all started to unravel. I was told the time, but then said they needed more signatures before installation. This should have been addressed in the dozens of conversations that I've had over two months before setting this date. That's the second issue. The first issue that brought me to canceling the service all together is not having all the paperwork gone over and addressed before appointment or during the confirmation calls and emails. Not the day of and 1.5 hrs before. Bottomline: they still offer great plans, but they fumbled on the 1 yard line, which ultimately left them with no sale and me wasting my day waiting on them and yes, I do recommend, as long as you're aware of every detail.

From the very beginning, their sales tactics were pushy and unprofessional. The salesperson was more focused on closing a deal than actually listening to my needs or explaining the system honestly. It felt rushed, misleading, and uncomfortable. Once installed, the issues only got worse. The products are wildly overpriced for what you get, and the customer service is even worse. Trying to get help or accountability from their team was frustrating and unproductive. The most concerning part of my experience was when an unauthorized individual was able to enter my home and invade my privacy using the very equipment Vivint installed. This is completely unacceptable for a company that claims to provide security. When I raised this serious issue, the senior representative I spoke with after 8 hours on the phone with employees that refused to transfer me or provide employee IDs, showed little to no concern. The response? A half-assed apology and no real action taken to address what happened. That was the final straw for me. I canceled my service and couldn't be happier to be done with them. If you value your safety, privacy, and money--beware and steer clear. This company is more interested in profits than protecting its customers. *Lawsuit incoming*

    Overall we are very happy with the security system that we just got set up and activated. It was a…read morebit of a bumpy road to get here. We previously had a home security system with Monitronics which changed their name to Moni and now has changed to Brinks. The transition to Brinks appears to be less than smooth. Rather than updating our existing account they started a new account which meant we had to also make sure the old account was gone so they wouldn't bill us for both accounts. We got the system on a house that is not our primary residence. Because of that we needed to make sure the equipment was sent to the house when we would be there. We arranged for it to arrive on a Monday. When that Monday came we received notification that the equipment shipped and would arrive Thursday. That didn't work since we had an installer coming on Wednesday. After receiving the run-around for awhile we finally got someone who knew what they were doing and recognized Brinks had messed up and overnighted us the equipment so we could get it installed on Wednesday. Our installer, John Morales, was exceptional. He came early because his earlier job didn't show. He called first to make sure coming early was ok. He installed the panel, deftly troubleshooted a problem, and got all the wireless sensors talking to the panel. We had quite a few sensors from our old system and a fire alarm which he also connected up for us. He tested everything, then he showed us how to use the panel and the app on our phones. The installation was 5 star. Some of the other issues make the overall experience less. Overall, I think Brinks made the process of ordering, setting up our account online, and activating the system unnecessarily complicated. Thankfully, they have good people, like John Morales, working for them.

We only found out when the babysitter set off the alarm and nobody called and the police never showed!!!! I have NEVER written a bad review but I must share my experience with Synergy. My HOME, my possessions, most importantly my family was not being monitored. Of course there is no way to tell for how long. I have had them for about seven years. I called and was told it would be between $350-500 to have someone come out to perhaps upgrade the system. I was LIvId! Nobody called or emailed or sent us a letter to let us know this happened. Needless to say we told them we were done. Apparently we were suppose to send in a formal email and we didn't . So now they want their money for the past four months. Don't care we weren't getting monitored. Wouldn't drop it even though we were no longer being monitored by them. Now have turned it over to collections for there $130 that we owe them for a service we were NOT receiving . Manager can't speak to me about it anymore because it is with collections but they say that they don't do business that way so I must have been notified about an upgrade....NOPE!!!! NEVER NOTIFIED!!!! Would be fine paying for a bad service paying for NO service at ALL is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!

    I just had a very positive experience with Sheppard Security. I had have been a customer of theirs…read morefor 10 years. Three years ago I lost my husband of almost 58 years. I live in a single family home. I am 82 year old and handicapped. After my husband's passing I had Sheppard Security install a camera near my front door as I was getting groceries delivered but they would not always ring my doorbell as I instructed in my delivery instructions. Also, sometimes I had strangers come to my house. Last Sunday at 6:30 P.M. I had two men come to my door but I did not recognize them so I did not answer my door. They started walking back and forth and keep ringing my doorbell. Then they went to my hose in front of my master bedroom window and turn it on. At that point I called 911. I spoke to an officer and told him of my situation and he said he would send an Officer to my home. Meanwhile one man stayed in front of my home and I lost sight of the other man. They had a SUV parked in front of my home with both passenger doors open and the hatch open. They were here for at least 20 minutes and I asked the officer on the phone at 911 when somebody was going to help me. He then told me that nobody could come because they were taking care of more serious problems then mine. Those two men were here at least 40 minutes. They finally left. On Monday I called Sheppard Security and talked to Joe their IT man. I told Joe I would like to have 4 more cameras installed around my home. On Sunday I was really scared because I could not tell where the second man was during the time they were here. I spoke to Jim the owner of Sheppard Security on Wednesday and he told me that the Cameras had been ordered and that he would make sure that the Cameras would be installed quickly. Friday morning Joe and another technician came and up dated my old camera and installed 4 new Cameras. They worked quickly and made sure that all five cameras were wired in and adjusted them so that I can see the 4 sides of my home. They also made sure that everything was clean after installing all of the new wiring. They were here for several hours. If I could I would give Sheppard Security, Jim the owner and Joe and the other Technician 20 stars. In this day and age it is nice to find a Company and their staff who takes pride in their workmanship and treats their customers with respect. They make you feel they have your back and that you are important to them. I think you can only get this kind of service from a family owned company.
