Our office has a European refrigerator that is not widely serviced in the US. Smart Solution Appliances was confident they could help us and even mentioned the same reason why their other customers usually get this brand which was the same reason our president picked it. I unfortunately put way too much faith and trust in these guys who showed multiple red flags before, during, and after their visits. The interior of the fridge freezes completely over following most power outages and there is a persistent error message that flashes. The freezing corrects itself over time and the fridge works fine other than that, but it's not fun coming in and having to deal with exploded soda cans and rock hard leftover salads. In late July, our diagnostic appointment was scheduled between 1-3pm. 5pm rolled around and we finally received a call from the technician letting us know he's here. After taking a look at the fridge itself, he let us know he has to order some parts but will be in touch to come in for the actual repair. We promptly paid for the estimate which covered both the diagnostic and repair and were told that the parts would arrive in 3-5 days. Three weeks later, I was the one reaching out. I was then given a date and time frame of 12-2pm. 3pm rolled around and the technician arrived. He tinkered around with the fridge for what seemed like hours, and ultimately told me he'd have to go to Home Depot really quick to get an additional tool. After returning and working for a few more minutes, he left saying he was done. I opened the fridge only to see that the error code that has been flashing for years was still there. I gave Smart Solution the benefit of the doubt and was hopeful the freezing over at least stopped. But I wasn't the least bit surprised the next morning when the arctic tundra was again present in our kitchen. I quickly emailed them with a video asking for help. Almost two weeks later, I got a reply. Look man, I get it if you're having medical or personal issues, I really do. But when you are a paid professional with a job to do, you either do it yourself or find someone else to do it for you. Taking people's money, not fulfilling your end of the bargain, and ignoring your clients' requests for help is not a good business model. read more

O star service! My dishwasher stop working, technician came inspected and told me need to order parts 4-5 days. After 10 days schedule appointment and didn't show up. I took day off and waited. No show! I called and they said parts didn't arrive and didn't even notify me. Finally parts arrived and he changed it dishwasher still doesn't work! He said it can be this part or that part. Great experience with Stan! After another technician quoted us $4k for a Thermador fridge/freezer replacement part, we had Stan come by for a second opinion. He diagnosed a different, less expensive, issue. When the part arrived, he was quick to come back to install it. During installation he identified an underlying issue/cause (power surge). He vacuumed the old refrigerant off first, then took the scales and made old fridges work like new ones. Next, he fixed our big industrial "True" fridge downstairs. I hired Stan to come repair our dishwasher that had worked fine for 9 years. He checked it out and said the cause was that the heating element needed to be replaced. it cost me about $400 to get the dishwasher repaired. It didn't seem to fix the issue. Stan had said there was a 30 day guarantee on the repair, but when I reached back out to him he changed his answer: now the root wasn't the heating element, the cause is that the dishwasher isn't getting hot water from the building. That doesn't explain why the dishwasher worked fine for 9 years. I'm now spending $1000 to replace the dishwasher entirely. So I feel a little taken advantage of that I had to spend $400, and the problem didn't actually get solved and now I'll spend another $1000. read more

We have had 2 great experiences with Stan & his crew. First our LG oven had a flakey temperature sensor that didn't allow the oven to heat reliably. He and his team fixed that in short order. Then recently we had an issue with our Electrolux dryer "heat outlet" needing to be replaced in the back of the dryer drum. He and his team disassembled the dryer, replaced the part, and had it all working again in a matter of a couple of hours. I will definitely be keeping Smart Solution Appliance's info to help keep my appliances in good working order, and out of the dump! Thank you Stan & Will! PS - if you look at the 1 star reviews here, put them in context... they are expectation mismatches. Unfortunately appliances don't last like they used to, warranties don't cover what you think they might, and sometimes things just break, don't shoot the messenger. I have a home warranty and was assigned Smart Solution to repair a washer. The washer was making a grinding noise during normal operations. I had a video of the washer when it was making the grinding noise. Smart Solution technicians arrived. They complained repeatedly that my home warranty did not pay a fair rate and that I should immediately switch to a home warranty that they recommended. No thank you. They looked at the washer and spoke Ukrainian to each other for a half hour. I showed them the video. Then the announced that there was nothing wrong with the washer. Idoits. Then they asked me what would I like them to tell the home warranty company. I said "The truth." Then they stated that I should give them a tip because the home warranty company does not pay a fair rate. Then they would say whatever I wanted. Suggested that I would even get a new washer. They were then asked to leave my house and I requested a new appliance repair service. The washer was repaired a week later. Avoid Smart Solution! He just posted a reply stating that the Home Warranty doesn't cover noises. Notice that he doesn't dispute the "shakedown" for more money or to defraud the insurance company. They did no diagnostic tests. What are the "diagnostic tests" for the bearings? The "noises" were because the bearings were shot. They were replaced. The labor and parts were covered by the Home Warranty. read more

What a waste of time. First off they subcontract their technicians so they aren't even the ones that do the work. Secondly, we requested specifically someone who knew how to fix a dryer heat pump because we had someone else spend 4 hours to try and fix it with no avail. They assured us they would send a technician who knew how to do it and Lo and behold the guy who comes is clueless. He then tries to BS some solution after taking a video and calling his colleagues and asks for his "diagnostic fee." Save your time and money. read more
