I came here for a foot massage and aromatherapy massage combo a couple years ago and it was so good I bought a package for 5 gift certificates more back massages which I was told would not expire. Unfortunately, I only used one shortly after and unforseen circumstances happened where I could not come back for some time after. I did come back here last year to use one of the certificates and had a mediocre massage done, so I wasn't rushing to come back anytime soon. I finally came back last month and they made a big deal about how my gift certificates were very old. Not sure why this mattered because they were fully paid for at one point in time and had NO expiry. After the receptionist made a few calls she agreed to let me use my gift certificate and said she would give me newer ones for my other 3 after I was done my massage. The massage was just OK, and the lady did not ask about pressure or any problem areas. When I came out they took my old certificates and gave me replacements with expiry for August 15th. One month away. I was in disbelief. I told her there is not supposed to be an expiry and she told me her manager enforced it, I was so irritated and I asked them to at least make ONE of them expire in September so I can do one in July, August, and then September. She walked over to a man who I presume to be the 'manager' in flip flops and a casual t-shirt by the way, and instead of talking to me directly about the situation he told her to say no and then went to the back to hide. Real professionals over here. I just used my last 3 certificates last week, one for me, and then a double massage for me and my mom. My 3rd one was a terrible massage done by Dipti (Not sure on the name spelling), she should not be a masseuse at all! She used so much oil I was dripping in it (very cheap oil too, so it feels disgusting), and applied almost no pressure on my back, and way too much pressure in every other place that probably shouldn't be massaged anyway like on top of bones and digging into fat instead of focusing on actual tissue and muscles. My hair was full of oil after as well which took forever to get out. I normally like tons of pressure but in this case it was in all the wrong places and was quite painful. She massaged more with her arm and elbow than hands and I felt worse after the massage than before. Then me and my mom came in for a double (forced by the expiry date) and they were 25 mins late for the massage and still wanted us to go at separate times, unbelievable! We were not even clearly explained that was the intention of course because there so unprofessional. A nice lady in the back (on her break) then told us they had a double room upstairs so we could be massaged together. I was pretty surprised considering they told me they did not have such a room. I wish I got the lady's name because she was the only respectable employee there! On the double massage I got the same Dipti masseuse and my mom got Emelia. My moms massage was so amazing and she said she would come back just for Emelia, and I could tell because she was very knowledgeable and kept asking my mom questions about pain and pressure, etc. My lady was silent of course, did not ask about pressure again. I told her my back still hurt from yesterday, and believe it or not she actually performed an EVEN WORSE massage than before. Some points were so painful I was tensing and moving away and she didn't seem to care and kept going. She 'massaged' the same way in the same place for an unreasonable time. It's less than 24 hours and I'm so sore from all the places she did. Oh and by the way she will hang around you and follow you waiting for a tip after like a lost puppy. Outrageous! I wanted to tell her to stop so many time and just finish early but my mom was enjoying her massage so much, I didn't want to start a problem. I have never counted down the minutes for a massage to end in my life!
Also, you can tell some of the workers are overworked they are there all the time! I'm pretty sure they work way more hours than the standard 8 hour day. The other ones clearly could care less about their job. The place looks semi decent from the office but its pretty run down when you look closer (especially the washroom and double massage room - which btw had a hookah pipe casually in the corner). The blankets the use are a terrible material - really cheap and not cotton so doesnt keep cool. The towels they have are the same material which is not good for wiping off oil like a regular towel is.
Overall, I will NEVER be back here. Emilia should consider going somewhere else as she seems to be the only shining star at this place, and the only one educated on what shes doing. Management is garbage here, most of the masseuses are terrible, and reception is unhelpful. Also, who answers the phone to a business with Hello?
