Lake Worth Custom Cabinetry

Summary - I contracted with Lake Worth Custom Cabinetry (LWCC) to do kitchen and bathroom cabinetry…read morefor a renovation of a small cottage in Lake Worth Beach. Everything started out wonderfully, but then the relationship went steeply downhill. LWCC signed a detailed contract, but later demanded additional payment for items included in that contract. They demanded early payment, and then walked off the job without completion. Additionally, there were issues with the quality of their work. The contract I signed with LWCC in February 2021 specified four payments: 50% before work began, 25% when cabinet boxes were completed, and the remaining 25% when all work was completed. In July 2021, they walked off the job without completing the work and demanded the bulk of the final payment before finishing. As I needed the work done in order to receive a certificate of occupancy, I complied. In February of 2022, I reached out requesting they complete the work. They declined and said they had lost a significant amount of money on the job. As they determined the contract price, required I pay more for items already included in the contract, and did not complete the work, I do not see how this could be true. Work never completed, though specified in eight pages of drawings which were included in the contract: 1. A pull out under the kitchen sink for the trash cans - This work was never done. LWCC said trash cans would not fit due to plumbing. But I may have the plumbing changed. So that is irrelevant to the fact that the work was not completed, despite repeated requests. 2. Installation of a "Magic Corner" cabinet accessory - The Magic Corner was included in the contract, but LWCC said I would have to pay for it. I did. However, they did not install it correctly and did not put a door on that cabinet. I am therefore left with a nonfunctional accessory and a gaping hole in my cabinetry. 3. A 33-inch kitchen sink - even though the drawings specified a 33-inch sink, I had to pay a change fee to have it installed. Quality issues include, I have pictures for anyone who is interested: 1. One cabinet had eight highly visible screws within 2 square inches. 2. One cabinet had four highly visible screws holes within 1 square inches. 3. Scuff marks and scratches on one cabinet door. 4. Shelving in pantry was not professionally installed. LWCC built an insert that sits in the cabinet. While it works, it is an obvious after the fact addition.

Grandview is an appropriately named store if you need a new kitchen…read more My new kitchen is now Grand and the View is gorgeous! From the time we walked into Grandview with only questions and curiosity, Susana and her team gave us VIP treatment. From the design phase all the way through completion, I never had a concern or worry about timing, materials, installation, subcontractors or any other detail associated with the project. Ours was not just a simple cabinet replacement job. We needed a complete overhaul! Susana walked us through the entire design process with skill and expertise. The job included having mirrors removed (a lot of them!) a wall removed, soffit removed, ceiling replaced, complete cabinet removal and installation, island installation, granite countertop installation floor tiles, new backsplash and more. We needed Susana's expert GC and his plumber, tile expert, counter installation company and electrician. Each step of the way was extraordinarily smooth. We were consulted on every detail. The team worked swiftly and with the care and precision you could only dream of for people working in your home. Best of all, the project came in ON BUDGET and was completed AHEAD OF SCHEDULE! I cannot say enough good things about Grandview Kitchens! If you're even considering a kitchen project of any size or scale, call Susana. You will not regret it! Andrew S. 12/1/2021

The person they used to come out and install everything ( Frank) was another issue. He did a shitty job, Suzanne fixed as much as she could and worked with us but this guy left wires in the wall that apparently was the main gfi, that eventually had to be cut out. Then he left a cut out hole in the cabinet above the microwave because he had originally installed them to far to one side and had to be removed and reinstalled and then we still have the cord to the microwave rolled up in the cabinet so you can really only use one side of it. Needless to say working with him was a headache.

We had first spoken to a few contractors who didn't want to be bothered with renovating a small kitchen on a small budget. We rejected the particle board cabinets offered by the big box stores and other discount kitchen outlets. We were impressed that Cabinets To Go offered sturdy, high quality plywood cabinets with hardwood door frames for a price that fit our budget. I emailed their corporate office and was relieved to learn that all their cabinets are CARB 2 compliant (meeting California standards for low formaldehyde). The idea of installing a new kitchen was overwhelming and we didn't know where to start. We were pleasantly surprised by the individual attention and guidance we received from Andra, our designer. Can't say enough good things about him-- he clearly loves his work, has a wealth of design experience, and is also very creative, talented, patient and generous with his time. He even gave us his cell phone number to text him with any concerns, and he responded promptly. We never felt rushed and always felt heard and taken seriously. He responded to our requests for advice on the smallest details, such as choosing backsplash tile, and his suggestions were very much in tune with what we were looking for. Our tiny kitchen was definitely a design challenge. Our goal was to add a dishwasher, microwave, and French door refrigerator to a narrow 8' x 9' kitchen, while still having enough storage space and avoiding a crowded feeling. That's where Andra's creativity came in; for example, he designed a 42 inch long sideboard for storage, using 12" wide upper cabinets as a base. Now the kitchen actually seems more spacious and has more counter space than before. We appreciate the neat paneled look and extra space provided by the large storage cabinet over the refrigerator. The design that Andra created for our kitchen worked beautifully and everything fit perfectly. He coordinated with the cabinet installers, who were extremely meticulous in both measuring and installing the cabinets. The result was a very professional and polished look. We liked that Cabinets To Go provides one stop shopping for both cabinets and countertop. We laid out about 20 countertop samples and compared them to the sample cabinet door. Andra helped us narrow down the counter selections and we were very pleased with our ultimate decision. We chose a beautiful Calacatta ochre quartz, which is extremely durable and easy to clean. Both the cabinet and the counter installers were very accessible and responsive to our needs. Everything happened according to schedule with no delays. Cabinets to Go provided the quality products, personal attention and responsiveness of a private contractor for a reasonable price. No complaints at all-- we found them to be a well run organization that puts the customer first. The reaction of everyone who sees our new kitchen is "wow", so their slogan "Wow for Less" is for real!
