I gave this shop a chance and regret it completely. I originally brought my car in for a loud noise…read morethat I believed was related to the wheel bearing or tires -- something straightforward that should've at least been diagnosed properly. Instead, my car sat there for days with no real updates. Every time I called, I was told they hadn't gotten to it yet or needed more time. There was no clear communication, no urgency, and no respect for my time. Then after all of that, I'm told a completely different story about not being able to test drive the vehicle because it didn't have plates -- something that was NEVER communicated upfront. If that was the issue, why not simply call or text me and tell me to come get the car instead of letting it sit there doing nothing? But here's the worst part -- after finally picking up my vehicle, I now have a NEW problem that I did not have before bringing it in. My power steering is no longer working properly after they had the car. That's unacceptable. I came in with one issue and left with something worse. At this point, it feels like careless handling or lack of attention while the car was in their possession. Whether it was touched improperly or something was overlooked, the fact is my vehicle left in worse condition than it arrived. FREE GAME: respect your customers' time and property. If you can't work on a car, say that immediately. Don't let it sit, don't give runaround answers, and definitely don't return it in worse condition. A simple call saying "we can't do it, come pick it up" would've avoided all of this.

I had a wonderful experience here…read more I came here for a used vehicle pre-purchase inspection. I was a bit cautious because as always there are a few bad google reviews - but as with anything that has reviews sometimes people just come out unhappy. I was in a time bind and Carney's was able to squeeze in my inspection within a 24 hour notice, the fastest of any mechanic in the area for my particular situation. I was quoted $49.95 and the mechanics were helpful and provided professional service. Most of all - after a one hour thorough inspection by Mike (head mechanic I assumed) the charge was still the same price they told me on the phone yesterday; a very honest mechanic. Mike recommended I get a basic vehicle check and the workers were all very friendly and performed excellent work. For that reason I'm giving this shop 5 stars. I'm not from the area, but if I'm ever in Pickney again and need service - I'll come back to Carney's. They assessed my vehicle thoroughly and I will most likely return to get the few tweaks in my vehicle looked at before the next season. Their quotes were very reasonable considering parts and labor and that certified mechanics perform the work. If you get a chance and you're in the area, drop on by!

They had the audacity to suggest several thousand dollars in unnecessary repairs but simultaneously issued a disclaimer stating that they could not guarantee any if these repairs would fix the problem. Setting $400.00 on fire would've been more productive than the help I received from TJ and staff. And I still had to drive away anxious at the thought of the car breaking down on the highway again. To top it off, there is now a completely new code showing up that Stadium either caused, didn't check for, or neglected to mention. I'm ashamed to admit that these so-called honest experts totally ripped me off, but they would have made my situation way worse if I had approved any more of their recommended repairs. After my experience, I wouldn't even trust them to fix a microwave meal.
