If I could give a 0 star I would.... I dropped off my dress on august 11th 2021. She gave me my receipt and a specific day to pick it up which was august 31st 2021 so 3 weeks later. I went on the date to pick it up and it wasn't ready. So I told her I would come back later that day to pick it up and she agreed. 30 mins before I was supposed to be there she text me and asked if I can come a few hours later. I then told her I would come back in two days because I am very very busy. She agreed. I came back September 2nd 2021 and I put on the dress and it was awful. She tightened the inside of my dress but not the outside it was all scrunched up on the lace on the outside. There were holes on the inside and the outside. I couldn't even get it to zip up anymore because it was so tight at my chest area and stomach. I had 3 inches of room before I dropped it off and I even lost 7 pounds since I had dropped it off. She was very sweet when we came in the first two times but the last time we came in to pick up the dress she was rude and unprofessional. My mom and maid of honor were in the other room talking about what was wrong with the dress and cindi pops her head out of the room that we were in and says "you know I can still hear you". I then took my dress to a different person which she then informed because that she wouldn't be able to fit it the proper way because of how messed up it was. Very rude and very unprofessional and should be put out of business with all these reviews she has. She has been in business for 10+ years and some how fucks up on every wedding dress she touches. I now have to buy a new dress for my wedding and my wedding is in 2 weeks. September 18th 2021. read more

Good, reliable, people are in short supply, and it is always a roll of the dice when trying a new place for the first time. I have to say when I walked into Smallwood Tailoring for the first time I was blown away at the attention to detail and was far from disappointed at the results. I have been a regular customer ever since. I have taken several suits, pants, and even a custom gown to them and have yet to find a situation that was too much for them to handle. This was a very bad experience. We went to Cindy in June of 2016 with plans to incorporate my wedding gown and my mother's wedding gown into my daughter's wedding gown for her wedding in July 2017. She said no problem... throughout the rest of 2016 we would stop by and touch base with her providing photos of what we wanted done. We even bought a gown from her that she had on consignment. Granted, it was too small for my daughter but she said it would be no problem to make it fit her especially since she wanted a corset back. In March of 2017 we stopped in bringing all the materials to her. We really wanted her to start working on the gown but she assured us that starting in May would provide enough time to complete. Throughout this process my daughter would go in and talk to her and show her pictures of what she wanted. Each time she would call me crying saying it wasn't what she had wanted. I kept reassuring her that it would be beautiful when it was complete, that she didn't understand the process of making a gown from other pieces of gowns. She didn't get the corset, but rather Cindy decided the zipper would work better. The veil was incomplete, it was left with an unfinished edge, which Cindy says that's what my daughter asked for, although I have the texts that say otherwise Then Cindy informed us that she was taking a vacation and needed to finish everything a week earlier. Well, needless to say, when I picked everything up on a Friday night at 9:30, one week before wedding...in the dimly lit room it looked lovely. And on top of all this my daughter did not get a final fitting because she didn't have it complete before she had left for her bachelorette party Friday morning (like many times before she had said she'd be done and wasn't). When my daughter finally inspected it Monday afternoon, we came to realize there were multiple things wrong. Pieces that were not sewn on at all, embellishments on one of the sleeves that was misplaced/misaligned with the other sleeve, the bustle in the back was not secured with a hook an eye, but rather just a loop of string and if anyone were to step on the gown accidentally at the reception would have ripped it right off. The top of the gown did not fit my daughter's body correctly. The beads were not sewn on as requested by my daughter. What it came down to was that she started too late and ran out of time... Fortunately a family friend came to the rescue and fixed everything. And in just 48 hours. She even made two garters, because the one Cindy made was horrible and about 3 inches too big. In the end, I only hope that people read these posts because I didn't check Smallwood tailoring out before I committed to this project and I regret it. It was a horrible experience and unfortunate for my daughter who was so stressed out the entire time. read more

This tailor was very terrible. Not only did the lady give me a specific date to pick up my clothes and not have it ready, she did not do the adjustments and tailoring to my dress that I asked for. She completely ignored one of the directions I gave her for the tailoring of my dress despite charging me for both things I asked her for. She proceeded to try and work around my schedule yet give me restrictions as to when I could pick it up though it was her fault to begin with for not having it ready on the day that she gave me. I will not be returning here due to this horrible experience especially since I needed my dress for a specific event and will now have to take it without the proper adjustments. I should add that the 1 adjustment she did came out very nice and I was pleased. read more

Buyer BEWARE!!!!! i took in a pair of pants that belonged to a suit and my daughters fromal gown both items were to be hemmed and taken in. Cindi cancled follow up fittings 2 times and would have a thiird time, but i insisted on keeping that appointment. She did the work but hemmed the dress wrong and ruined the suit pants. I had to take the formal gown to yet another tailor to have it hemmed to the proper length. Do not take anything to this lady, ESPECIALLY IF YOU NEED IT IN A TIMELY MANNER OR WANT IT BACK IN WEARABLE CONDITION. upon questioning her about her awful work she had nothing but excuses. oh and by the way she kept the money she was prepaid!!!!!!!!!! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! BUYER BEWARE IS RIGHT!! If I could give this lady a zero star, I would! Cindi is her name! This lady gave me a date of when my items would be ready, so the day after they were supposed to be ready I called and she said they weren't ready. I called again two weeks later, still not ready. It took her over 6 weeks to get my stuff done and when I went in to pick it up her assistant was STILL was working on a piece and there was one that wasn't done at all; I took it and went home without inspecting. When I brought it all home and looked at it I was appalled! The seam on the sleeves of a shirt were all crooked, shorts had the wrong color and size thread, seams didn't line up, just awful. I immediately called her to complain. I brought it all back and she told me her assistant did it and said herself it was not good. She re-did it and it was still pretty bad, bad enough to where I can't even wear it out in public. WASTE OF TIME, ENERGY, AND MONEY!! I absolutely LOVE Smallwood Tailoring. I first went there for my prom dress. It was extremely nerve wracking, considering the dress wasn't some cheap rag from LA. I was afraid of getting my dress back in uneven shambles. However, after listening to Cindi's output (the Business Owner) and watching her work the dress around my figure, I felt completely confident. Then we came up with our own ideas to add on to my heels, make small adornments out of the extra dress snippets, and so on!
