Excellent fresh fish with convenient pick up locations. Not the cheapest but it's worth it for the quality.

Ask the Community - Small World Seafood

Can anyone confirm whether this promising local business offers frozen only, or is it a mix of fresh and frozen? (I know at least the latter.)…

Yes! They have a great mix each week of frozen and not frozen items. They also continue to add other things like stocks, unique pierogis (frozen), marinades, and more.

Having spent most of my life here, a few familiar joys always come to mind. Now, I'll admit--shopping for fish wouldn't usually make that list. But Giuseppe's Market inside Samuels & Son has changed that entirely. This place is an absolute standout. The seafood selection is unmatched--ultra-fresh, incredibly diverse, and always beautifully displayed. But even more impressive than the product is the people. The team behind the counter is among the most professional, accommodating, knowledgeable, and all-around kind folks you'll ever encounter in a market. They're the kind of people who take pride in what they do and make you feel genuinely welcome every time you stop by. If you're not already shopping at Giuseppe's, let me just say--you're missing out. It's a hidden gem tucked inside a working seafood distribution hub, and it deserves your appreciation. John, the manager, is a master of hospitality and seems to make instant friends with just about everyone. The rest of the crew? Just as fantastic. Three words: Buy. Fish. Here. You'll be glad you did.

The issue is that the sandwiches sound delicious on the menu but the reality doesn't live up to my expectations. My husband order some spicy Mexican inspired fried catfish sandwich for himself and a fried scallop sandwich for me. The sandwiches presented well but both lacked flavor, salt & seasoning in general. Even the soups; one was supposed to be red lentils but looked mostly yellow lentil and again desperately needed salt for one and would have been improved with additional seasonings. Whoever made the manhattan clam chowder got the recipe correct. It was the only thing that was tasty without needing alteration. The owner is nice and after my first poor review offered to make me a replacement but I didn't take him up on the offer. If they only get it right while someone is watching over their shoulder, what's the point. It is NOT a cheap lunch so to be disappointed is a real bummer. Better to stick with the raw seafood items or some prepackaged items (hummus & great flatbreads).

Our family has been known to decimate our fair share of seafood. Sorry, Mother Earth…read more I'm not a fan of blue crab, but this is where my sister likes to get the crab and steam it herself. We'll enjoy the shrimp - again, we like the option of buying here and cooking it our own particular way at home. Hot, steaming, garlicky shrimp, head on, please. Prices are fair. If you are going to order alot of food, it's a good idea to call ahead and make sure they'll have what you need at the time and day you need it, especially if you have a big gathering and need a certain quantity.

I always find it frustrating to go out to eat at a seafood restaurant and pay tons of money for the smallest amount of seafood. However, Atlantic seafood doesn't have any issues giving you fresh seafood on a budget. Not much I can say about this place, it's a typical seafood market, that also cooks food, in the back, while you wait. My weekly go to items include the steamed snow crab legs platter with shrimp. The platter comes with medium shrimp but I always sub for large shrimp. All steamed platters come with broccoli, corn and a potato... steamed with butter and old bay. I also get a fried Whiting platter and it comes with fries and cole slaw.... I honestly have no complaints about this place and the family that owns it, is very friendly.
