USER: Small World Dental is by far the best Pediatric office. The staff is amazing. My three kids always have a great experience. The dental hygienist was exceptional! She was very thorough & explained everything. The dentist answered all my questions. I would recommend this office to all my friends & family! read more

The Front desk at this dentist are very rude. They don't want to help in any way or form. They are horrible with the appointments, not flexible at all. Closed on weekends. read more

At first, I thought this place was good and I was happy. Then I came back for my kids six month checkup and was told that my child needed oral surgery. I went and got a second opinion and was told by the oral surgeon that the initial dentist apparently was an imbecile and that the oral surgery was unnecessary. "They are quick to cut " his exact words. The oral surgeon that we went to second opinion has been in practice for over 35 years and specializes in tongue ties. All they're looking to do is milk your insurance this particular dentist is full of shit. Be careful. read more

very rude on phone not very helpful I felt as if shes was dismissive did not care about patients needs

terrible! they reschedule appointments make kids wait over a month when having a simple cavity so it becomes a bigger problem.

The medical staff were great, attentive, and kind. Unfortunately, my experience was ruined by the front desk receptionist, who is the reason I am never going back. My appointment was on 11/13/2025 at 10:30, and after my daughter was seen by the doctor, I went to the front desk to ask if I had to do anything else besides filling out the form, but instead of answering me, she waved her hand aggressively to show me to move out of the way. I moved, and I waited for her to finish checking in everyone in the line, and I asked again, and her response was "you sit." I took a seat and waited, and I watched her talk to her coworkers instead of helping. I waited for some time and I asked her again, then she told me, "yeah, you can leave." To be honest, I believe that behavior is not only degrading but also discriminatory. I will find a way to submit a complaint to a government agency, because people shouldn't be treated like that. I noticed you have cameras in there use them to monitor the behavior of your employees. read more

I had an appointment today with my son. We got there 1:30 we sat there for two hours 30 minutes was not seen by anyone or dental hygienist. They took 6 people that came after me. There was no explanation from the staff. I asked them they said the doctor or dentists only takes who they want to see first to me that was not really nice. To see people who I came there before them not one or two but 6 people. so I left. I'm disappointed. The staff need to do better. read more

Took my grandson to his regularly scheduled appointment for a checkup. The staff were very nice, friendly and professional. Made my grandson comfortable. read more

The girls receptionist are prejudice. I was sitting there listening to the appointments giving out and if it was a white person or one that looked like they had money they got fairly quick appointments. But if you had that they really didn't like or you being a minority and they know you didn't really have money because of your insurance type they give you an appointment four to five months later just for a simple preventative procedure. Well, I got angry about this, and I slammed my hand on the counter, and I cursed at them when I told them what I saw and felt, and they decided to refuse services to my grandson any longer. They'd rather take out there pettiness and not act professional in the long run on a child. And not notify me that they canceled his appointment when this happened but waited four months until the day of the appointment three hours earlier. The reception like are prejudice, if you do not have a good insurance to them you are not worth anything. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

The office staff was absolutely amazing! From the front desk to the doctors. Everyone was so welcoming and patient!

Small world dental provides such a friendly and welcoming environment for not only adults but the children. The first day I walked in there everyone was so kind and welcomed me with open arms. Dr. Sinha is extremely patient and truly cares about the childrens dental needs. I highly recommend Dr. Sinha for all families in Staten Island. read more

When the assistant? took us to the room, she started checking my daughter's teeth. Then she used a little brush to brush her teeth and counted the teeth. After a while, the dentist came to check her teeth for like 2 second and that was it. As he was checking her teeth, the assistant put fluoride on her teeth. They charged $30 for oral evaluations, $45 for prophylaxis, $49 for fluoride. This dentist is a participating dentist for my union, but why do I still need to pay $49 for this visit when it should be $15 for UFT/ Cigna? It's such a rip off especially when the dentist didn't clean her teeth. I'm so disappointed in this place. Never going back again. read more

My kids used to love coming here, now both are traumatized, the staff shoved the drill and made my son vomit all-over and polished my kids with SDF & Stained both there faces. I came to ask for help and they just said it will come off in a couple of days use salt, seriously rub and scrub there faces, both were crying , this place is a disgrace... read more

We have been going to this office for a few years now. The staff is helpful and the doctor is great! He takes time to explain everything and is always smiling. This definitely helps the children feel more at ease. I would recommend this office to everyone! read more

0.5 star, really disappointed today, were late for 15 minutes only for my daughter and sons appointment because of traffic. Office manager woman ( really nasty attitude ) I don't know how doctors still keep like these unprofessional attitude people said can't see them because we were late, even we don't mind to wait, and said they could see them on June 6th which is after 3 months. Doctors and nurses are nice by the way. Thanks!! read more

I switched to Small World Dental for my 10 year old this past year after being referred by a few friends and boy am I happy I made the switch! They are super friendly and help to put my child at ease. He will require a decent amount of work in the near future and I'm confident that he's in good hands. I've been to other practices where my children never even saw the dentist; however, at Small World, we have seen Dr. Sinha for each visit, even when scheduled for just a cleaning. He has a kind demeanor and is great with both the parents and the patients. We have also had the pleasure of having Ms. Gill clean my son's teeth each time and she is so patient with him and explains things to him where nobody else has ever taken the time to do. We highly recommend Small World Dental! read more

This is at 100% honest review. I was lied to about scheduling. I was given a date when they where closed. Today 1/12/2023 I had a 1:45pm appointment, 2:10pm I walked out due to people with later appointments going in before my child. If you truly want to be lied to then this is ur place. Delete this review and I'll be at the front door boycotting. read more

Insurance Coordinator has excellent customer service and detailed information. Cathy is amazing!

The reception working at 3:30 pm, Wednesday 10/7/2020 is horrible. Extremely rude and hung up on me twice without giving me a chance to speak. In a time where things are so uncertain and emotions run high for people, you never know what someone is going through, perhaps you should HIRE SOMEONE WITH BETTER PHONE etiquette, and some manners. JUST TERRIBLE.... IT TAKES MORE ENERGY TO BE MEAN SPIRITED THAN KIND. DO BETTER!!!! read more

Did great job on my 3year old. Kind and he was not afraid at all. He got two prizes for being so good.

Dr.Joe and stuff are amazing!! They are very friendly and they make you feel very welcomed. Words can not express how truly grateful we are for Dr.Joe and his absolute amazing staff!! This summer my daughter Marianne not only had to have a baby root canal done but she also had to have 4 teeth pulled. She was beyond nervous and scared, the minute she met Dr.Joe, she instantly felt better and most importantly SAFE! He took a true interest in her and got to know her, this made her feel 100% ok with being at the dentist! He was truly amazing with her, he showed her every tool he was going to use and exactly what to expect! Dr. Joe along with the amazing girl who helped him, held my daughter's hand and eased her nerves. He was truly made to work with children, you have to be a wonderful person to do what he does and he truly is!! We adore him! Now my 8 and 4 year old ask to visit him to say hi! read more

I called this office multiple times to schedule an appointment for my child every time I called and they picked up I was treated super bad, rude receptionist, when I came for my appointment the receptionist was even ruder in person and thought she knew everything... girl please you're a receptionist not a doctor please stick to your low income position, you wannabe dentist. If you really wanted to become one I suggest you quit your low income position and go to school and do some thing with your life. So once my child was in the chair, Doctor Joe treated the assistant very poorly. Just because you're a dentist and you have a "high income" doesn't mean you can be selfish piece of trash. I've never in my life seen someone so nasty and so rude, very cocky and conceited dentist please stay away from here I suggest you look up reviews for other places and stay away from here.. read more

the doctor is so professional and so welcoming but the staff are horrendous. the doctor requested i go to an oral surgeon for my jaw that keeps shifting. its been 4 MONTHS since i tried calling the dentist. today was the last straw. i called in regarding the same problem and they immediately left me on hold and then ended the call. again i called back and stated the issue she didn't even say "please hold" she knew it was me again and let me alone. I have no choice but to go to them in person. they can't ignore me. I've been in pain for MONTHS and they don't seem to care. really unprofessional. read more

We switched over to Small World about 2 years ago, from another pediatric dentist we had been going to. You will not find a dentist with better bedside manner than Small World. This staff is not only amazing with all of my kids, but in particular my son who has autism. He does not do well at all with having anyone touch his face, mouth, etc. but Dr. Sinha is so good with him even when my son is forcefully restraining him. Our old dentist put my son under anesthesia because they could not work on him. Dr. Sinha assured me that this was not necessary and was able to work on him. We were so happy! Again, not just the dentists, the entire staff is very caring towards the children. I recommend them to all of my friends, and even more so to my fellow special needs parents! . read more

I would like to start by stating I have loved Small World Dental for about 3 years now. My daughter has had dental work performed by Dr. Mike, Dr. Sinha, and now Dr. Joe, and I highly recommend them all, as well as Dr. Barnes if anesthesia is needed. My oldest daughter has an anxiety disorder. I myself was not raised with routine dental cleanings, but luckily blessed with "good teeth" and have never had a cavity, or any dental work. Around my daughter turning 6 it occurred to me she should visit the dentist, being she was getting in grown up teeth, and to get her used to going for routine cleanings. Of course in the time we waited for our appointment with a local family dentist, she developed an infection as a result of a cavity, and this added much more stress on the upcoming appointment. The staff was unable to even get an x ray. I went home and spent all night crying while trying to find another dentist, a pediatric dentist who could see us quickly, and help her. We somehow found Small World Dental (yellow pages maybe), and the next morning she got her x ray and exam, and we scheduled her root canal and tooth extractions for a few weeks later so the infection could clear. This was performed quickly and successfully but was a taxing experience for all. The following year more "emergency work" was needed and we scheduled for her to be put out by the anesthesiologist, and she was able to have all of her dental needs addressed while she slept and dreamt in the secure walls of Small World Dental. She had a few appointments to follow with the implementation of a spacer, all which always caused her anxiety to flare up. Well this Monday I am proud to say that she, as well and her 5 year old sister, had their very first successful stress free dentist appointment (little one's first appointment ever). There were no infections, there were no new cavities or problems found. They got x rayed and got cleanings, and left smiling (we had a few tears but that was more from the release a child with pent up anxiety experiences when they feel relief). They are excited to return for their next cleaning. They are excited to floss. They are proud of themselves. I cannot thank Dr. Joe, and Allison, who worked with the girls that day, enough. Allison even taught my older daughter some calming techniques. My eyes tear as I type this. I am grateful to have found Small World Dental. Thank you, for legitimately specializing in children, and changing my daughters' lives. read more

Dr. Joe is just amazing! I took my 3 year old daughter in to see him for the second time and she absolutely loves him! She was so nervous the first time and when we left she said she couldn't wait to go back. He had injured his ankle at the time and was walking around with a rubber snake in his boot! Good thing Toy Story 4 has just come out at the time! Couldn't say enough great things about him! We love you Dr. Joe! read more

I would love to give 0 stars. I'm standing outside their closed office half an hour before my childrens appointment, which the office rescheduled on me 1 month ago last minute for today. It took me 6 weeks to get the first appointment and was rescheduled for today which is a month past the original appointment. Seriously unprofessional. Guess I'll be finding a new pediatric dentist. read more

I've never wrote a review in my life. However, I felt compelled to let the general public about this place. First of all, if your child is afraid of the dentist at all... find another place. The hygienist is just making a buck. She has no compassion at all. Both of my children vomited when she was working on them because she did not stop working on them when they gagged. She proceeded to let them gag repeatedly until they vomited. It's just not a place for small kids ironically. read more
