I'm really disappointed to be writing this review. But I don't want anyone else to be in the predicament that we were. Prior to selecting small things flower and co, I had purchased hand wrap arrangements from her shop from friends and family. They were gorgeous and always made the recipient's day. With arrangements always being so unique, it being a small local business and Nicole (the owner) always being so sweet, I decided that she would be our florist. I truly regret this decision. I will admit that I had one major change in the original plan, I had wanted white flowers and greenery while my mother wanted bright colors. But that was changed way in advance. Mom won the battle. Nicole was flexible and understanding with that change. With the budget that I had provided, Nicole had said multiple times this is the largest wedding that her team will have done and the wedding they're most excited for. This should have made me apprehensive but at the same time my thought process was that everyone has to have that "first big something". Based on our venue and the total amount of our wedding cost, our wedding was classified as a luxury wedding. All of our vendors reflected this. With the exception of small things flower and co, we worked with amazing reputable vendors that pride themselves on experts with "luxury weddings". On the day of the wedding while taking photos with our crew, I was shocked to see @ 4 pm ( ceremony was at 4:30) that the arch was not up at all and there. The two half arches that were supposed to to be at the end of aisle was still being constructed and now place as the "main arch"... I didn't stress about it because I trusted my florist. Then, right before I walk down the aisle. My mom comes in furious, she said that our reception is completely barren and devoid of flowers. My mom had a right to be upset as my parents were the ones that were extremely generous and had paid for florals and decor. She was promised (verbatim) that flowers would be "EVERYWHERE". But I still reassured my mom as I'm getting ready to walk down the aisle , that it will get filled after the ceremony and to trust Nicole. My planners kept the truth from Vic and I to prevent us from getting stressed. After the ceremony, our reception was in the ritz grand ballroom. We had our wedding party under three pergolas. The pergola was suppose to be completely covered with greenery and vines. There were also barren and the greenery that was on there was left unfinished. One was pergola was sort of covered and only from one angle. The room was still bare. Midway throughout the reception, the greenery fell and drooped down. We were charged a 2,000 fee alone in installation fees but I'm really perplexed because besides the falling greenery that covered the front of the 1/3 pergolas, they were not any other "installations". Also, I went through after and scanned the documents, my initial installation fee was $300 and I completely missed it when I reviewed it that it somehow skyrocket to almost 2100.. and I actually removed a ceiling installation back when it was less than $500 for the installation fee. I thought Nicole was kind and I wanted to give her company the chance to break into larger cultural weddings. But I was so wrong. Some family members had mentioned to us after that the flowers were wilted at their tables. I cannot confirm that but I doubt that they would lie. So not only did two main focal pieces not be delivered, the overall "promises" were also not made. I was told that there was an abundance of florals and that flowers would be everywhere. Our other vendors and many of our guests were shocked at what we spent. They had assumed that we spent a 1/3 of what we spent based on florals. The words "you were scammed" was mentioned numerous times. In the beginning, Nicole had quoted me something ( that I wrote down) and then when provided the quote, it was 3 times what she said. I had told her that I felt that I was being taken advantage and many of my friends had asked me if I could get my initial deposit back or just take the remainder of my budget to another florist. I defended Nicole vehemently and I regret that. I learned that after Nicole had a breakdown with her team when things had gone awry. Her teamed blamed the conditions and cited "weather" . I checked the wind measurements just to fact check this and was lied to. The wind the day before (multiple arches were set up) while we were at rehearsal was 6 miles, the day of our wedding the wind speed was clocked at 7 miles. And, I would like to mentioned there were other weddings inside and they all had arches set up perfectly. This was a blatant lie and a ridiculous excuse. She texted me after that she had to make "small changes due to weather" not delivering two large focal pieces is not a "small minor change". The large arch was suppose to be repurposed for later. She cannot take accountability, unethical and over promised but underdelivered read more
