Very reasonable price for the value. They are a studio where you can go and paint bisque and be creative. Nancy is very helpful as well. They offer classes where you can learn how to throw clay bowls with instructions for a reasonable price. The best part about it is that your work is fired in the kiln overnight and is ready for pickup the next morning at no extra charge. For a family of 4 like mine... very reasonable (under $50) and fun afternoon activity. If you are spending any time on the Bagnell Dam Strip, be sure to stop by and be creative for yourself. Allow 2+ hours for each painting session. Tell them sun stencil girl sent you!! They will get a kick out of that!

This is a really cool building which houses artists studios. It also opens to the public…read morefrequently to have receptions and showcase its artists' work. The building is somewhat industrial-looking, like a warehouse/small factory converted into art studios. The mastermind behind this conversion, a thin, charming gray-haired man with glasses (I can't remember his name!) is an artist himself and crafted the enormous sliding doors to each artist's studio. Each door is custom, unique and impressive. It utilizes ordinary and construction materials in sort of a flat, yet dimensional sculpture. The lighting is professional. The building's exterior has few opaque walls, and uses tinted windows from floor to ceiling in most cases. The artists featured here are all either aspiring or actual professional artists. I find most of them to be very talented. The famous MIssouri water-colorist Paul Jackson maintains a space here. Come here on a weekend during the art crawls, or artrageous friday's or whenever this place opens its doors. There's usually free wine and cheese and you can talk to the artists (and maybe buy their work!).

There are…read morelots of murals along Route 66, but I'd say Cuba takes the cake on being the most stood out in MO. They are not all in one place, though they are close to the Mother Road. All of them have a story to go with them, like Harry Truman's visit to the city. Amelia Earhart's plane made an emergency landing near Cuba. But my favorite is the one about Bette Davis and how she was trying to prevent a local photographer from publishing a candid photo of her, during a visit to Cuba. All of the murals have been well-kept, especially after being up for longer than 15 years! If you're just passing through the city, or on a Route 66 road trip, make it a priority to catch these murals! The list is on the website on where to find them.

That's right, there is a dungeon of art under the store. Back in the day, when Columbia had a train depot, this was where they probably stored stuff to ship and where people milled around to find the right platform and get on their train. **May 2025: Weekend Visit**…read more I came here to attend the 2 Rivers Comic Con inaugural convention and really enjoyed this beautiful space. There's ample parking for patrons and the building itself has high ceilings for lots of air circulation. On my visit they had a small stage for the talent to speak about their experiences as well as a separate room for signings/photos. The space is very intimate and while they did not use the 2nd floor for the convention there's room to grow if they did! Overall, a nice space for nerds to gather!
