Specialties
I spend a lot of time with each client. I only offer one "package" of my services; i.e. four 90-minute face-to-face sessions per month, plus unlimited number of short - 15 minute - phone calls or e-mails about an issue or problem that has come up between sessions for which they need immediate help. I send clients regular tips or articles about the topic we're currently working on.
After EVERY session, I send every client a detailed breakdown of what we discussed, the value or benefit of each topic we covered, a review of all parts of any homework assigned, and any agreements we reached in the session as to what was expected of them and me in preparation for the next session.
I use business analytic tools, such as budgeting and cash flow statement creation, that I learned as part of getting my MBA in Entrepreneurship that directly help my clients achieve their revenue goals.
I share my storytelling skills that I acquired from being a professional storyteller and my knowledge of how storytelling can be used for businesses from the courses I have taught on the subject as an Adjunct Professor.
History
Established in 2004.
From 1986 to 1996 I served as a senior development officer for several cultural organizations in New York City, helping them to raise operating funds and increase their visibility to funders and the public. These include Performance Space 122, Soho Repertory Theater, the Arts at St. Ann's, Dance Theater Workshop, And El Museo del Barrio.
In 1996 I formed my own company, Small Business Management Consulting (SBMC), through which I provided a broad range of services to many cultural and social service organizations. My work with non-profits included annual giving drives, organizational development, board training and strategic planning campaigns. Since its founding, my company raised more than $5 million for nearly 50 non-profit businesses.
In 2004, after earning an MBA in Entrepreneurship, I repositioned the business to provide the same creative, revenue-enhancing strategies for profit-making, commercial enterprises. To date, I have provided business coaching/consulting services
