Perfectly fine standard Swedish food (I know it's Aland, but it's still Swedish food), but nothing special given the chef's reputation and how built-up this place is. One would think, given that Bjorklund is a signatory of the New Nordic Manifesto, that a certain refinedness and such would show in his preparations of classic dishes, and that I'd have had the best skagen toast I'd ever had. But it was, although tasty, rather average.
That said, this might be more of a four-star where I'm lowering my rating based on preexisting expectations. And with Fasta Aland being, frankly, mostly a tourist trap as far as I can tell, this might be as good as restaurant food gets there. read more
